Alcatel 1 (2021) - Smartphone 16GB, 1GB RAM, single Sim, Volcano Black

It’s a good phone shame the old sim couldn’t use it and had to be returned. But love the phone for youngsters. Thanks to the seller for refunding and including postage of return. Amazing, I would shop with them again for other items.

I really like this phone, simple to use, all the features I need, far less of the bloat that I don't. I've already had an Alcatel phone, and that's been providing sterling service as a household spare for over five years. So when my beloved Moto G started to misbehave (or behave really, really slowly, even after a factory reset) I decided to save over £100 and go with an Alcatel as my new main phone. There's just one problem; the battery life. It's absolutely terrible. Just sitting on my desk doing nothing (except turning 'calls over wifi' on and off, and I can't find any setting to stop that) I need to charge it once a day, sometimes twice. This would be absolutely useless to anyone who needs the phone to be actually, well, mobile. I can't buy a replacement battery with a larger capacity, so I'm stuck with it. Other than that it's great, such a shame that it's been let down by this one aspect.

Batteries not very good, and quite slow loading

Got this phone today. Spent an hour on phone to Barclays. This phone will not download or run the Barclays app. Be warned, it's not compatible. Otherwise I cannot review as I've not used the phone or will. An yes I did update the os before I done anything else. Update..... Got the phone working. Ok. It switches itself off for no reason at all. And even just left and not used the battery runs flat within a day. Absulote total rubbish. Useless as a phone. Don't even think its worth the money at all. I would be better off going to a phone box.

It’s such a good product for what you pay for!! All apps work perfectly, has good battery life!! Of course it’s not a super fast phone but all works so well!! Very happy with it!!

I love an Alcatel, I've had various phones from them over the last 20 years. This one we bought so my husband can video call his children. Easy to operate (they are 10, 11, and 12) and have no problems navigating it themsleves. Easy to set up; we chose a PIN to open. Might not be an all singing all dancing high end phone; but if your looking for a good quality basic with a decent battery life - this is well worth a purchase.

The response time for this mobile was extremely slow. It was bought as a make do whilst mine was being repaired but it was so slow, and the screen kept freezing. Maybe this was a dud model but sadly it had yo be returned.

Great for the price. Wanted for my mum as it's her first smart phone just so she can get to grips with the touch screen and WhatsApp etc. Slightly slower than other phones but it's easy and does everything she needs it to.

Es ist klein, es ist billig, es funktionieren die wichtigsten Dinge darauf. Aber mehr bekommt man nicht, und meh darf man sich wohl auch nicht erwarten. Was vor allem nervtötend ist: Android Go! es gehen diverse Dinge nicht, die man von anderen Handies gewohnt ist, so z.B. auch Widgets auf dem Desktop. Ja, man kann sich einen anderen Launcher installieren (Microsoft Launcher funktioniert gut darauf), aber dann merkt man eben auch die Hardware-Limitierungen des Handys wieder deutlich. Als Ersthandy für die Tochter im Sommer gekauft, wir rechnen mal damit, dass sie zu Weihnachten oder spätestens zu Ostern "was vernünftigeres" haben will.
