After a week of rain my 06 Audi A6 MMI just quit. Dead. Zippo. Checked all fuses, they were all OK. Held down reset buttons, nothing. Complete PC boards were available on Ebay but the entire center console needed to be yanked out , OY!! I was almost ready to take the car to the dealer but @ $235 an hour though that there must be another answer. Reading posts I discovered that the MMI modules are linked together with optical cables and if one of the modules (there are a few) craps out, nothing will work. So I ordered this, and it came the next day. The first module I worked on was the Satellite Radio module. I easily removed the optical cable from the module, snapped one of these connector cables in it's place, and the other optical cable on the end I removed from the Satellite Radio module. Lo and behold the MMI instantly came back on line and is working fine.

If you have a fiber optic loop in your car for your entertainment system, you have GOT to get these - they make diagnosing components on that loop easy and instantaneous; doing it yourself will.......literally......save you thousands of dollars!! Thank you Mellbree - you saved me hours of work and thousands of dollars. Got here super-quick too!!
