good cost-to-benefit ratio
Good gaiwan for the money. Nice shape for brewing, clean lines in its design. Flat bottom, even rim, thin walls. Good for green tea. Takes a minute to figure out the ideal grip, but once you have your technique dialed in, this is fun and easy to use. Rim could be slightly more flared, this would allow for a cleaner pour, but overall it doesn't dribble so I can't say it's bad. Lid does a good job of holding the leaf back while the soup pours quickly. Only thing I don't like is that the underside of the lid is hollow, so where your finger sits and holds the lid down, there's a chamber where hot water can quickly fill up and burn your finger. Making the lid a solid semi-circle piece and then fusing the button down on top of that would correct this flaw. Otherwise it's pretty nice and exceeds my $10-ish expectations.

High quality but gets HOT
I had been looking at this gaiwan off and on for a year. I loved the idea of seeing my tea, but since glass conducts heat, I opted for a porcelain gaiwan. Since I'm doing tea classes at home, I decided to buy a (few) extra gaiwans, and I broke down and bought this. The gaiwan is beautiful. The glass was a bit thinner than I was expecting, but that's not a negative. I keep dropping the bottom saucer a few inches and it hasn't broken, so that's nice (though I don't recommend doing that). The big issue is that it gets hot, which I knew buying this. I used it today for a black tea, so just under boiling water, and it burned to hold it, whereas I have no issues with the porcelain ones (and have been told I have asbestos hands since I can hold anywhere on a porcelain gaiwan with just under boiling water). I don't recommend it as your main gaiwan, but for something fun to bring out occasional and use with the lower temperature teas, it's a quality product.

Not glass/porcelain
Disappointed. I feel alot more plastic than glass or porcelain in this cup. Accidentally dropped lid on floor and confirmed my suspicion. Boiling water into my loose leaf tea makes the cup so hot. Afraid it will melt. Went right into the trash after first use.

Won’t burn hands, saucer will hold lid in upright position against the gaiwan
This gaiwan is well worth the money! It’s the only gaiwan I have except some very expensive ones that retain the lid against the gaiwan. Also, the glass will not transmit heat to your hand. The glass is thin but durable!

Poor craftmanship
There is a visibly noticible and tactily to the mouth obvious bump on the lip of the cup that looks as if it were pulled incorrectly from the mold or glass pipe and speaks of the poor quality of this gaiwan. Overall the glass is of poor, wavy quality visually detracting from the whole point of a glass gaiwan. The glass is also very thin, so if you brew your tea above 90 C, it will be too hot for your fingertips to hold properly as you strain and pour.

Lit tends to stick
The lid tends to suction or stick a bit for me, largely do to its more bell and tight shape compared to the more normal flatter lids. The flat top to the lid handle also retains more heat where your pouring; as mentioned by others it gets extremely hot and difficult to handle. Its a fine auxiliary gaiwan but not a good go to one.

Nice large gaiwan
The glass is thinner than I expected! It looks exactly like the Amazon photo. Great to watch my tea leaves unfold as the tea brews.

Well designed, glass is very thin
Good shape, can filter as finely as you could in a gaiwan. The glass is scary thin, but it withstands the heat well. Can be stored in a way that no dust gets in the cup or the lid. Mind that 150 ml is small, you can do a small cup of tea in the western style, but it is best used to steep good quality tea multiple times. Overall good gaiwan, but the for the price they could have made the glass a couple mm thicker.
