AlienwareAW15R3-0012SLV Laptop (6th Generation i5, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD) NVIDIA GeForce GTX1060

I usually stay away from alienware because they gouge their prices. This is the exception. It's a gtx1060 6300hq for $1,200. Msi, asus, my go to brands, are a few hundred more.Only 8 gb of ram but I'll upgrade that myself for $50.Aesthetically, it's top tier. The frame around the keyboard and track pad feel rubber coated, really nice. It's solid enough and the customizable lights are a lot of fun and cool.Performance wise, I wasn't expecting the 1060 to be this powerful. So far I've installed Witcher 3, shadows of mordor, fallout 4 with 4k texture mods, gta5 etc and it runs everything on ultra at a solid 60fps. I never thought a $1200 laptop would do that. The 1060 is a great card.Shipping was horrible. I signed up for prime just for this order. I ordered and 3 days later was told I couldn't ship to a pobox. So I shopped around for another laptop and couldn't find a deal this good so I ordered again using a friends address. A week later it came. Around 10 days for me from ordering to get this, and that's with prime. I will say now that I have it it was worth the wait.5 stars because the computer is nice, you will probably want to upgrade the ram though

The combination of the i5-6300hq and GTX 1060 is great for 1080p gaming. I have been playing Black Desert Online at high settings and 60 fps. I did tweak some of the other settings to help improve the average framerate. The backlit keyboard does change colors based on load and temperature. I am not sure how to adjust this yet but it messed up my color scheme. The fans do get loud under full load, so I would recommend gaming with headphones or a headset. Overall, I am very happy with the performance so far!

Ignore all the negative reviews, decide for yourself, I purchased this laptop and I absolutely love it! The build quality is the best part of it, it just in general looks and feels like its worth what its priced. Battery lasts about 3 hours since its 68WH so it's not the best BUT it has the option to upgrade to the 99WH, which is really good. If you care about not only the performance of the laptop but durability and aesthetics, this is the laptop for you!

My 11 son received this for Christmas & he loves it. The graphics are beautiful!! He no longer complains about his games lagging or the game will not run. We don't have those problems any more!!

Battery dead upon arrival, and that is pretty much it.
