I read some of the 1-3 star reviews and can't understand why they said that. I personally didn't smell any fish in mine, they must of got a bad batch or something this happens with all products from time to time. This product is unscented, I can't smell anything. This being unscented can be a double edge sword, but for me, I prefer unscented sometimes because I use argan oil which means, my hair can smell of sweet argan oil instead of a powder wax, or the shampoo and conditioner I have has a coconut scent that stays faint in my hair as long as I use unscented products. As I said unscented can be a double edge sword, choose what you fancy really. The reason why I like this product is because my hair is thinning, and so I'm using religiously argan oil on my damp hair, then adding some of this totex powder and magically thickened my hair thanks to whatever it is doing, being unscented my argan oil scent came out on top, and now my bald thinning side of my hair hides my scalp more. Not bad product in fact the minimum this should get is a 4 for being unscented, I haven't found a real problem with it so 5by5 for me. The powder is exactly as stated 20g inside a container that weights a little 10-15g or so 35-38g total is what it weighs, it is also cheaper than the other volumizing ones I've used and thus less damaging on my wallet. Not really an issue but I found with this no sticky tape on top of the holes to prevent any leak during transit, but mine didn't leak out much, just a bit of powder upside down on the lid not really an issue, why would it be? I just swipe it up with my finger and use it from the lid, it's all the same when it's rubbed into my hair. A few taps and the holes are unplugged. I used it by adding powder to my hands, then rubbing together and all around the hair styling and concentrating on the thinning in my hair where I can see my scalp, doing it gently, and bit by bit, but not too much so it doesn't saturate the hair too much, 5-6 shakes in my hand was sufficient for me, and I have long hair. Obviously with everything the more you put the more greasy and saturated the hair gets, go little by little until you get it right. It works for me gets rid of frizz too, adds a sort of healthy matte look that wasn't too dry like some others I've used. I can't say if it is strong hold, because my hair is long there is no hair product that I can use that will hold my hair. I should think if your hair is short it will be a strong hold. My favourite is still using the totex wax and gels, as they work better for me, this powder is really meant for shorter hair styles I think.

works brilliants, love this stuff, allows a bit of styling, including that messy look, and is completely matt. so look very natural.

this is good but i wouldnt use instead of hair gel, is good for using with gel as it is more stable. would recommend bt dont buy if you want to use as an alternative.

Keeps hair in place all day and really boosts style — very happy with it! You do need to wash your hair for a bit longer the next day, as it is harder to get out than a wax or a gel product
