Q: How do I put it on leather

I applied to satin ballet shoes with E6000 glue, not sure if that would adhere to leather as well.

Q: Does it iron onto spandex?

probably not a good idea. you need a very hot iron to melt the glue, and spandex probably can't handle that. Also it will not stretch with the fabric, so it would either pucker or pull away from the fabric. I have a little of that pull-away on cotton knits.

Q: Is the background black?

there is no background other than the material you are ironing it to.
