Perfect Pewter
I bought some moulding for a frame around a fossil tiled backsplash for a dry bar, which's has nickel hardware. I bring that up because a wood frame would have been too dark and silver would have been too polished a look.I searched for iron metallic, but it came up too industrial, modern, and dark. I was shooting for an aged-looking frame, sans caulking, kind of a steam punk, old looking frame. So, I painted two coats of Jolie chalk paint in graphite on the frame. I looked for Jolie metallics but they were too bright. The pewter gave a nice depth without going black and heavy. I used a chalk paint brush to spread the pewter, but tamped the brush of excess to get a nice coverage without heavy brush marks, but still getting consistent coverage. It’s Beautiful and I haven’t added the clear wax yet, but will. I’ve used the wax on other projects and it’s so much better than clear coat. The small pot covered about 18’ of 2” wide moulding and there’s enough for a second coat, but I’m thinking the one coat is enough. I tried using the pewter without the base coat and straight onto wood but it didn’t have the depth and beautiful finish, so a proper base coat is needed.

Beautiful shine , for old wood.
This is a beautiful paint with a semi gloss shine. The color is true to the picture. If you are painting over a dark wood, you will need to prime the wood or add several layers of white paint to achieve the perfect finish. Use a roller brush for a smooth finish. It takes a little time, but it is well worth the finished product. I have not completed the project, but I am happy in the interim.

Awesome color and durability
Awesome product. Painted a drain color that my builder accidentally installed with a black drain. I painted 2-3 coats and sealed with modge podge. It is working great?

Champagne gold
Love how this paint looks. Its coverage is great. My photo has a sample on wood with just one coat. Also my photo looks silver but it is a pinky gold color. Second photo is two coats.Dries pretty quickly. This particular jar of paint was used, so it was a good price. Paint is fine. You could tell someone opened the jar but it was not used. First shows the jar is full.

Closer to bronze and finicky application
I used this for a a diy stencil project at home. It did ok. First of all, I think the gold is closer to bronze. I should have realized that when my husband joked that the can of paint looked like a jar of peanut butter. It is also quite sheer. I guess that is probably also because I was painting on such a dark navy blue background color. It took 3 or 4 coats before I got the opaqueness I wanted. It seemed to soak through the painters tape i was using. I actually had to score the edges of the painters tape with an xacto knife before I could peel it off. That was incredibly frustrating and time consuming. Then I had to use a really fine tipped paint brush and paint blue over where the gold had bled through. Since the gold is so sheer il and the blue so dark it was surprisingly easy just very time consuming. After the cleanup I am fairly pleased with the results. I was wanting a more yellow gold but this was the closest I could find on the large amount that I wanted. And of course anyone who has worked with metallic paints knows it's really hard to hide brush strokes, which is why I originally used a roller. But maybe I should have used a higher quality foam roller instead because it looked awful. After the first coat I abandoned the roller for a small paintbrush. That helped with application but I was really careful with my brush strokes.

Great paint - excellent match/complement to brass metal
This paint, while fairly pricey (the trial size was not available when I purchased this), was exactly what I was looking for. I made a fire engine for my nephew out of wood and brass, and wanted a paint that matched the brass as closely as possible. Rust-Oleum Metallic Accents in "soft gold" fit the bill admirably (see photos). In addition, the paint covers very, very well - I was using it to paint over red, which is a notoriously difficult color to cover over in one coat.UPDATE 11/20/2019I still use this very same container to accent some of my projects - so it has remained usable for two years! It is a VERY thick paint. I used brushes for my project, and I imagine a roller would work to apply this paint as well, but I can't imagine getting it thin enough to run through a sprayer without ruining the covering properties of the paint and severely impacting the quality of the finished project.Overall, I am incredibly pleased with the paint - though I do wish the price was more reasonable. Finally - it has been over a year since the fire engine project was completed - and I just today opened the paint to use a bit, and it seemed to be just as fresh as it was the day I first opened it in November 2016. I credit the container and the tight-sealing screw-top with preserving the paint. I kept the foam disk that came inside the lid, which also probably helped. So, while I paid quite a bit for the paint, it was a pleasant surprise to realize that it has a very long shelf life, and therefore I can squeeze out a little more bang for my buck.
