The one I used would be too big for that

This hone will not work on 85mm bore. You will need the next bigger one (3 1/2"). The grit will depends of your purposes, cylinder material and, specially, the finishing you may want. If you intend to assemble new piston`s rings consider to use the 240. In my case (fit new rings in an Audi V6 cast iron engine block) it worked very well.
