Not ALL FD-258 cards are alike. Know what you are buying.
Beware. Not ALL FD-258 cards are alike. This card is similar to an authentic FD-258 card, but not exact. The lines are off. On the back of the card it states "Equivalent to FBI FD-258". While this might work fine for ink fingerprinters, it does not work well for livescan because the software has to be configured for the card. If the lines are off, then the printing is off. This would require the livescan vendor to go in and adjust the configuration file.

Apparently not accepted by everyone...
I recently learned that OPM, among other federal departments are not accepting these cards and are requiring the 5/15/15 version of the card. From what others have said it would seem that the "equivalent" cards are not usable with some systems that are then digitizing the inked prints from the cards. I recently purchased some cards locally that have the correct version date but with black lines. I've been doing inked cards for 18 years and this is not a good situation if the cards are not accepted by everyone. Some requestors specify the "blue card" so now I have to have the black 5/15/2017 card, I also have a few of those in blue but your advertisement is misleading because it shows that you are selling the blue cards. Why is this suddenly so confusing. Is Identicator confused, or is it those requiring a certain color of card that are confused. Arizona said the black lines wouldn't work with their "scanner." Why in the world not.

Yes, these arent "authentic" FD-258 cards. but it ...
Yes, these arent "authentic" FD-258 cards. but it takes a side-by-side comparison to notice the subtle differences (the most notable being a darker blue color.) I cant speak for printing from a livescan machine, but Ive had no issues printing information on these cards (albeit using a template I made myself with acrobat.) In the end, they scan the same as a "real" FD-258, so if you're looking for a cheaper alternative (or one that could arrive in time as was my case,) these definitely fit the bill.
