8 foot long box review
I am giving this 4 stars from the beginning because of even just offering this service.I did not even know who to ask to take care of 10 burnt out 8 foot long fluorescent tubes.... for at least 7 years...It took me awhile to figure out how to gently press one side of the bulb holder to gently release the bulbs on our probably 1970's ballast. I had the 8 foot long bulbs with only one center metal connector on each end. With two people the job of removing 10 bulbs was not so hard. You get the cardboard box and the cardboard liner and the plastic bag liner all folded in half and flattened when it is delivered, so that it is 4 feet long and flat. It is difficult to open up the 8 foot outer box and inner liner. I stuck a piece of vacuum hose in to keep it slightly separated and then somehow worked the other side to pop open for both. They do NOT communicate CLEAR directions if you are supposed to us the inner cardboard liner or not. They only say to put the plastic liner directly in the outer box if it DOESN'T include a cardboard liner. I put the cardboard liner in and if you angle it in the opposite way of the outer box, it helps both to keep their square shape since both were flattened previously. Then I put in the plastic liner.... THAT IS THE HARDEST PART.I would suggest if you have 10 or less bulbs to use the cardboard liner. If you want to try to get maybe 1 or 2 more bulbs in, then leave out the cardboard liner. I put TEN 8 foot long bulbs in and the last was very difficult to get in, mostly because of the bunched up plastic liner.Once they were all in they give you a zip tie to seal the top of the bag, and then you simply put a lot of shipping tape on both ends to make it secure. The box actually seems pretty secure. I will have to update this review about the FedEx pickup, hopefully it is smooth.UPDATE: Yes, the fedex pickup you just schedule online or on the phone and it was picked up in a few days. I bought this TWICE!

NOT as advertised
NOTE: THIS is my FIRST box to do the lamp-disappearing trick. (recycle)I did not check lamp-fit of box WITHOUT the liner....however, the liner that came with this box could hold 5 times the lamp quantity advertised! With the small box size - the oversized buckled liner prevents more tubes from fitting box.I was able to cram, with some difficulty, only 12 lamps.I'm almost certain that to have stuffed another lamp would have caused a lamp to burst, possibly sending shards into my hand or worse.TOO BAD, isn't it? This could have been so simple and easy (as it appeared from the ad) - Well, I'll need to order ANOTHER box to be rid of the last 3 lamps. You can bet I'll be on the lookout for a better product.(PS: Guess what the price rose by $1 since my purchase! I suppose they are taking after the airlines, jacking up prices day by day)

Two Stars
You have to supply your own packing tape and it only held 11 t-12 tubes.

Does not hold advertised quantity of bulbs
Only holds 11 tightly packed 8’ bulbs. Otherwise well thought out and complete save for packaging tape.
