Firstly, these are pellets, so you must be aware of that as you will need to set them up differently from normal chunks, especially if you are used to use coal, this works a bit differently, but once you use it properly, the results are so worth it.It comes in a bag that is safe enough to store it, i would recommend keeping it in a dry area as much as possible, it was super easy to use, as i've just filled in my bbq and with a few fire starters, it was no problem to get these going.Compare to coal, these don't burn for as long or get as hot, so do keep that in mind, as you will have to use more than you think, depending on how much cooking you're going to do, it works out well for me as i only use it for two, so i don't have to use much or long.Is it better than charcoal? Yes, i believe so, what it lacks on everything else it makes up in the flavour that it adds to food, i very much prefer a nice charcoal bbq to gas personally, so if you add this fine wood to it, it makes it a much more pleasant experience, as it adds the smokiness of outdoor camping and enhances the flavour on food, it's like natures msg.Highly recommend if you want to take your barbecuing to the next level.

I got these to try out my new smoker now the weather is looking a tiny bit sunnier. I found these gave my meats a fantastic flavour and has really taken my 'outdoors cooking' to the next level.For the amount you get, I find the price is quite fair but I really, really don't like the bags these come in. The handles are made out of thin card and if you attempt to even use the handle, it will just tear through die to the weight. Quite hard to keep sealed and dry after opening too.Good product with great potential if more attention to detail is paid to its packaging.

I really do like the flavour that these pellets gave me, a nice subtle smoke but not overpowering.They come in a paper bag and reading the instructions they are recommended to be in an airtight container, I feel they should be supplied in an airtight container if that’s how they should be stored.I would have said the value for money is fair but now you must purchase an airtight container that will bump the price up.As the instructions recommended I placed them in foil and made some holes for the smoke to be released. This did work as I wanted it to.Great product not so great packaging.

Take a handful, put them in silver foil and wrap. When the charcoal is at the right temperature, place the foil wrap directly onto the charcoal and then BBQ your meat. Your meat will be smoked beautifully with a closed BBQ and have a hint of smoke if BBQ'd open. The taste is strong and fantastic on sausages and burgers etc. A really nice twist to the standard BBQ and well worth the money as you have at least 50 BBQ;s from one bag

We cook a lot of Indian food and some of the vegetarian dishes smell and taste good if smoked. Tried the Fresh Grills Wood Pellets (Chicory) instead of coal and the result was okayish. The smoke does smell nice when the pellets are wrapped in a foil with holes, but the food lacked the smell that we got using coal. On one of the dishes, we got an 'oily' taste.Overall, didn't work for the purpose we used the pellets. It may be effective with meat or in a barbecue.Hope you found this review helpful.
