I read many reviews online (not just amazon) prior to choosing this camera and it does not disappoint. This model (and the slightly larger 522) always seemed to take the top reviews. I chose this one because I wanted a smaller form factor than the 522 and it gives me all the same features minus the larger screen size (which I don’t even see when it is mounted) and the polarizing filter (which can be added on if I choose). The video it great. The app to download it to my phone is just ok. Sometimes it is quirky on connecting. So far, the suction mount has held tight without issues. The build quality is excellent, it feels solid, and I love the way it attaches to the mounting bracket via a magnet (very strong too). The attachment allows the wire to remain plugged into the bracket and not directly to the camera itself, making it a cleaner install and easier to remove as needed. I bought the kit to hardwire it, which I received, but I’m still waiting on the company to send me the proper compatible fuses. They promise they will ship them free of charge, but since they come from England, it has become quite a wait. Until they come, I can’t finalize the install so the wire is hidden.

Bought the camera in February 2022 so I had the chance to use it for several months before this review. The good quality of the video is unfortunately obliterated by a constantly frustrating experience with the camera. These are the major issues I had:- Camera is overheating. The temperature inside my car is always 70F regardless of outside temperature.- Difficult to remove the micro-card. Need a tool to push in, fingernail does not work (like most of other devices with micro-cards).- It does not accept micro-cards of capacity higher than 32GB. The Samsung 128GB micro-cards I've tried to use were as recommended by the manufacturer. The video stopped recording before reaching 32GB... every time!- When the videos captured are getting close to micro-card max capacity (i.e., in my case 32GB), the camera starts recording blurred images then stops working without warning.- Camera does not re-record over previously recorded files. I had to remove the micro-card and delete the video files on laptop.- Communication camera- phone app is unpredictable. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not... and much you can do about it.UPDATE: I had to downgrade the rating to 1 star. Camera is nothing but a source of frustration. Frustration is the only thing that is consistent! Overheating, stops unexpectedly, "card format" errors. After posting the first review, I have been contacted via email by the vendor with the promise that they will help to solve the problem. Just that. Never hear a word after. If you read this review as a potential buyer, I highly recommend to invest the $$$ elsewhere.

After buying many dash cams over the last few years ranging in price from $50 to $300, and being disappointed by image quality, build quality, app integration or appearance, I have finally found the one. This is the best picture quality, hands down, and there is a lot more to like about this unit. What i have realized is that not all 1080p or 1440 images are equal, this nextbase product far exceeds the other "HD" cameras i have used.The app works seamless, and Alexa is really cool and i just ordered some things off amazon i needed for home while driving. The installation process took 10 mins and i will be purchasing the hardwire kit accessory as well.This unit has emergency SOS that will alert emergency responders in the case of an accident if I am not able to reach the camera or my phone, i like that safety feature for my family.I highly recommend this product to all my family, friends and anyone looking to get a dash cam, and will buy another for my wifes vehicle.Note: buy a sd card along with the camera.

The video looks great and it has good video at night as well. But the app for it is so so. Though I'll give it to them that the technology available is slightly lacking for something like this. To use the feature of downloading and connecting with my phone (main reason I got this camera) has to connect with wifi, but of course you'd be doing this from your car, so you'll be either in a parking lot or your driveway and most the wifi signal is not the best when outside the house or business. So connection and downloading is painfully slow and often disconnects even with a decent signal. You could bring the dashcam into your house to do it but that kinda defeats the purpose , I could just as easy take the card out and go in to download and browse my clips. Also just fyi the sos feature is only free for 1 year, after you must pay for it. It's kinda glitchy, sometimes it connects fine and sometimes you have to restart the camera 2 or 3 times for the sos to connect and you must have your wifi turned on(actual connection to a wifi source isnt required) and lastly a tip: when you want to download or browse clips on the app while sitting in the car(dashcam has to be on and connected to view of course) you should turn off parking mode. If it's on the dashcam will turn off while your on the app after a few minutes and will disconnect you mid download of clips. Also will turn off if your in stopped traffic or a very long light. There seems to be no setting to control how long before it goes into parking mode when stationary.

I did a lot of research and Next Base makes great units. I settled on this unit because it was on sale at the time. Easy setup and now I have bought another one for our 2nd vehicle. I also have purchased the Rear View camera unit for both units. Make sure you buy a Brand Name U3 SD Card also. SanDisk 128GB High Endurance Video microSDXC Card is the one I purchased and seems to work OK. (The dash cam needs a fast write speed to function properly.)

This is my first Dash cam, so I looked at various different devices. This one had great reviews and you get plenty of functionality for you money.1st, it is very easy to configure, make sure you download the app and that will then pair the device to your phone. There are plenty of settings that are easy to use. The installation was simple I used the charging cable, It is a good length and I had no problems running the cable alone the side piller and above the sun blind. One thing to remember is to plug the charging cable into the window mount before fixing to the windscreen, as it can be a little tricky post fixing. What is a massive plus and I have not seen this before is the magnetic fixing bracket, this makes fixing and removing so easy with no fear of pulling the fixing mount off the windscreen massive plus.Play back could not be simpler, just open the app, with the camera power on, it will then create its own WiFi connection to the phone and you just download the clips that then save to your phone or you can use the USB cable and link the device to a PC.So in all, easy to setup, great video quality and a good price. Very pleased.

Vorab möchte ich erwähnen, dass ich bereits seit langen Dashcams besitze und auch bereits viele verschiedene Modelle und Marken getestet habe. Aber diese Dashcam wird (vorerst) meine letzte sein.Ich bin wirklich sehr zufrieden. Im Lieferumfang ist alles wichtige dabei - selbt ein kleines Plastikwerkzeug welches beim unischtbaren Verlegendes Kabels hilft. Tolle Sache! Die Inbetriebnahme funktioniert dank der App sehr sehr gut. Ich hatte keinerlei Verbindungsprobleme - lediglich beimSoftware-Update musste man zwischen Wifi-Verbindung mit der Dashcam und LTE-Verbindug "hin- und her" springen. Zuerst musste die WLAN - Verbindung zwischen Dashcam und Handy hergestellt werden. Anschließend musste über LTE (oder alternativ ein internetfähiges WLAN) die neue Software auf das Smartphone geladen werden und dann wieder das Handy mit der Kamera verbinden, damit die Software aufgespielt werden kann. Zur Installation habe ich das Hardwire-Kit von Nextbase verwendet und würde das jedem empfehlen. So kann die Dashcam direkt an die Elektronik vom Fahrzeug angeschlossen werden und muss nicht an den Zigarettenanschluss angeschlossen werden. Dadurch habe ich keinerlei sichtbare Kabel. Die Dashcam selbst liefert ein klares Bild - auch bei Dämmerung bzw. Nacht. Was ich toll finde ist die Tatsache, dass diese beim losfahren automatisch startet und beim Beenden der Fahrt sich auch wieder automatisch ausschaltet bzw. in den Parkmodus geht. Dieser dient dazu, dass Parkrempler nachverfolgt werden können! Echt klasse Feature. Darüber hinaus finde ich es auch sehr gut, dass es jede Menge Einstellmöglichkeiten gibt. So kann man das Display entweder anlassen, ausschalten oder sich die Geschwindigkeit als Digitalanzeige anzeigen lassen. Auch die G-Sensor - Empfinglichkeit kann hier nach eigenen Belieben eingestellt werden. Ebenso kann ich die Videolänge entsprechend einstellen. Wie gesagt, rundum eine gelungen Dashcam und bis dato die beste Dashcam, die ich bisher hatte - und das waren schon einige von anderen Herstellern ;-)Klare Kaufempfehlung
