DO NOT BUY Didn’t work AT ALL
I have self dyed my hair many times and never had a problem. I used 2 boxes of “Orchid Glow” (though I bought 5 because my hair was considerably longer but j just cut it). Followed all the instructions. The picture is the finished product—noticeably NOT the deep purple pictured on the box. It’s maybe a shade darker and a tiny bit redder than it started, but otherwise the dye basically didn’t take. I’m so mad I wasted my money and time on this stuff. I’m going to try again I guess since I have three more boxes but I definitely would not recommend this to anyone else. Update: Opened the next two boxes and the developer was a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COLOR! This time it took on my hair, but still definitely isn't purple, just a darker fuschia. I now can be sure it was a problem with the dye and not user error. Ultimately, I bought five boxes, two weren't made right, and two were but still didn't come out the color the box suggests. They must have really poor quality control or something, I definitely will not be buying from them again. tl:dr, would give 0 stars if I could, do not buy

Orchid a mixed review
So I'm on the fence with this hair color. Seeing as how I used Dark Orchid I thought the color would be much darker/deeper. It looks like an intense darkish auburn with fushia highlights. So, not what I was expecting. However, I have received so many compliments and "looks" for this hair color more than any others that I have used! I am not sure what to think yet, as I know red is notorious for fading I will see how it holds up. For reference I color my hair with a red violet usually a level 2 or 3. This is more like a 4+ I think that the box needs rebranding because I looked at other reviews and it doesn't match very well with what the description says.

Why did it turn my medium brown roots ORANGE???? No purple at all.
If I could give zero stars, I would. I have used Feria hair color before with no issues. In fact, I used a different shade of Feria purple (Midnight Violet) a few months ago and it was fine. I put this on my medium brown hair. When I rinsed it off, my hair is still medium brown, except my roots are now ORANGE. Why did this lighten my hair so that my roots turned light orange? I am so frustrated right now, I just want to scream. Maybe it will work for you, but all I can say is buyer beware... unless you like orange.

A very nice purple-brown
My hair is medium brown shot through liberally with grey, and I've dyed it several times with the Cool Amethyst with good results. But the "amethyst" is so faint it's practically invisible unless a light is shining directly on it. So this time I tried the Midnight shade hoping it would show up better. It really does. It covered the gray satisfactorily as well (the "after" pics are without a flash in a not-overly bright room). It took about twenty minutes to apply and then I let it sit for twenty-five minutes. I like the brand because it doesn't smell bad, the gloves are big enough for my fat hands, and they're sturdy enough to take off when I'm done applying the dye and put back on for the rinse out. I love the hair conditioner follow-up treatment, too.

Great product low price
I love loreal. I use a lot from them and Feria is the only line that actually can dye my dark hair... I still can't dye it blue or pink etc but this brand red and purple tints dye hair well
