Paper Collage Workshop: A fine artist's guide to creative collage

I was given this book as a present as I had been harping on about it having seen the artists work on YouTube. I love the pet portraits and the idea of recycling old magazines and searching for the right colour or piece and daft stuff like knowing the part I used for the inner ear on this picture is a part of a picture of a violin .. Samuel Price makes it look so easy and his work is amazing. I think the book would suit most age ranges ..although no sharp exacto knife / scissors kids !! I used the grid method from the book for this painting but I'm not smart enough to cut out paper squares as the artist does ,except for the background..but I'm ok with that ..I enjoyed the book and refer back to frequently..

This is an inspiring and informative work all about producing incredible pictures using paper collage. The author gives comprehensive and straightforward instructions and lists of required equipment and supplies. There are also a number of projects that progress from fairly simple to more complex. The book makes paper collage seem achievable and is an excellent resource for those interested in this medium. What a wonderful book! Packed full of inspiration, projects, photos and step by step guides, this would make a wonderful book for anyone creative and crafty as it takes you from beginner to more advanced!

I liked it. Good insight and instructions on how to create art. I’m not good at it t but this is very helpful for me. It took me a few months to read the whole thing but I think I’ll give it a go and see what happens next.

Wow! What an amazing art book! I am very impressed with the author’s teaching of collage. Looking forward to starting the first project and learning how to create unique artwork. Very inspiring!

I have been painting for over 20 but never tried collage. I have so far worked thru four exercises and find them very helpful. But starting the fifth exercise I am told to divide a 24 inch surface into 32, 3/4 inch bars. Just a glance at the example tells you there has too be an odd number of bars. And a count of bars in the illustration shows only 25 bars, not 32. In the 4th exercise the step by step illustrations show changes in the red flower shape in steps 4,5, and 6 which appear out of sequence. Despite these issues I enjoying the projects and hope to complete them all.

This book is detailed so well on how to go about creating you own art! So inspiring it is a springboard for developing your own creative self! Love all the original art work ! Just an absolutely beautiful book ! I have so many projects in mind..
