Your baby needs Vitamin D3 supplement!
Carlson for Kid's Vitamin D3 drops for Infants 400 IU D3 per drop is an excellent product! This bottle has 365 drops, or one year's worth of Vitamin D3. It is intended for ALL infants initially, breast fed or formula fed. Formula fed infants who take 32 oz of formula per day (when they are older) no longer need to take any. Breast fed infants should take a drop a day as long as mom is breast feeding. This product is made with either coconut or palm oil; this makes it very easily digestible for infants. It is a great value compared to other products: $15 for a year's worth of baby D3 vs $25 to 30 every45 days. As a health professional, I have recommended this product for years. HIGHLY recommended.

A little bit amazing
My daughter refused to drink milk after she went off her bottle, and obviously needs more Vitamin D than you can get from a yogurt in the morning. These drops are fantastic! Totally tasteless on food (I put a drop in a spoonful of her yogurt), and one drop is a full daily dose of Vitamin D. It's almost too good to be true, especially considering the Enfamil drops are very bitter and nasty tasting. Several reviewers have complained about the dispenser, as only one drop can come out at a time, and it takes 3-5 seconds of holding the bottle upside-down to get that drop out. But if you are adding a drop to food it's not a problem. Since they have no taste I can't imagine trying to pin my daughter down with her mouth open to give her one drop of vitamins! Just put a drop on a piece of toast or in yogurt or whatever and you are done. Very, very easy! As long as my little girl refuses milk, I'll keep these drops in the house!

Best Vitamin D in Market
First time mom, son was breastfed through exclusive pumping. Doc had prescribed Enfamil vitamin D drops which in my new mother haze I blindly started giving. Few weeks in, finally read the ingredients and couldn't believe the crap that was in that stuff. Did my research, and this is clearly the best Vitamin D drops on the market. Doesn't have a taste, lasts you a while, and not sure why other reviewers are having trouble with the droppers...I think it works fine and comes out quick. baby never had drop taking this, and didn't change taste of milk. To be honest, not sure if taking all this extra Vitamin D had made a difference with anything; son has still gotten sick plenty of times in daycare, average height and weight for his age group. But I do at least feel confident I'm giving him something "natural"...and the second best option after natural sunlight

For a healthy start to life without nasty chemicals to worry...
Among all the heavily advertised, supplements for children, this is probably the only one your little one really needs. Especially breast fed babies that were born in relatively darker months (when the days are shorter) are in real danger of becoming vitamin D deficient and therefore, supplementing a drop/day makes a big difference. Both my children were born in winter months and were exclusively breast fed (formula contains vitamin D while breast milk is really low for that) therefore we used vitamin D supplements. This brand is among the very few that does not contain any preservatives, corn, soy, sugar, color or other nasty stuff. It only has vitamin D plus coconut oil (vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin and that is probably why they need a type of oil to dissolve it). If you want to make a clean start for your kid I strongly recommend this brand. Although it only gives directions of use for children over 2 years on the bottle , the same directions should apply to those younger than two as well since the same company produces another product for babies which has the same level of vitamin D in it (it has some palm oil and vitamin E in addition to Vitamin D and coconut oil). If you feel like it would be difficult to make a child take the drop, I can recommend a couple of tips: -The worst case scenario, you can put it in the milk (if you are expressing and bottle feeding) But I would not recommend it since it does not blend in well and quite a bit of it may not find its way to the mouth. -Better than that is to put it on a little teaspoon (clean and sterilized if possible) and make the little one lick it. It does not have a distinct taste and they would not object much. -The best way is to get them used to opening their mouth by turning that is a funny ceremony. As young as 3-4 months, they can cooperate . Based on my hands on experience and professional medical knowledge, I strongly recommend using vitamin D drops for health development of your kids. Among all vitamin D supplements, I recommend this brand for that it does not contain nasty ingredients and amazon sells it at a decent price .

Perfect Vitamin D
In the past, we've purchased Enfamil D-Vi-Sol (and Poly-Vi-Sol) from local stores. The were out of the D-Vi-Sol last visit, so we checked Amazon. After finding the D-Vi-Sol, I noticed this product and was impressed with the reviews and value (the bottle contains 365 servings vs. 50 servings in D-Vi-Sol). Everything the other reviewers say is true. It's much easier to get our 19 mo toddler to consume these since they're only one drop per serving and are tasteless. I was amazed to find how much other stuff is in the Enfamil vitamin! This one just contains an oil plus the vitamin D. Anyway, if your child needs a vitamin D supplement, I'd strongly recommend this one---we've been converted. *Update 9/2/12*: I've found that "Thorne Research Vitamin D/K2" is a superior product to this in many ways. The Thorne product has 4x as much Vitamin D for less than double the price; it is easier to dispense (squeeze a dropper rather than waiting for drops to come out); and, it includes Vitamin K2 which is safe in any amount, and prevents negative effects of too much Vitamin D.
