The grooves are brilliant!
I love this pan. Everybody is saying they don’t understand the grooves, but the grooves are brilliant! They keep an exact even coat of oil over the entire pan instead of spreading out to the sides or pooling in one spot. It’s awesome! I only wish they made more in different sizes! I would love one that was a little larger. Anyway, I am going to buy two or three more. It’s a great pan! I’m so happy I bought it! I live in Hawaii and with all the moisture, a non coated cast iron pan was just nearly impossible to maintain. It wasn’t worth the effort. This pan resolves all the issues and is wonderful to cook food with.

Horrible to clean!
I bought this pan in order to sear steaks on my gas cooktop in the winter. The steak cooks well in this pan but trying to clean out the honeycomb grooves is a nightmare!

Heavy for Someone with Health Issues
Pan looks great, but the ripples in bottom very hard to clean. Heat distribution is quite off, one area is very hot burns things. Very heavy if you have difficulty lifting things. I like it, but the cleaning is not easy. Oh, the handle gets VERY HOTso be sure to have oven mitts! I tried using silicon handle covers, they did not work. But even though it seems I,m disappointed, I,m not, just be careful of the hot handles. It does cook well once you sort out where the hot spots are .

i like it so much better than my regular cast iron skillet.
I purchased it as I now have a glass top stove. I gave it 4 stars as I'm a single senior, so I've only used it once so far since I received it. I sautéed sirloin steak strips. Looking forward to using it more. I need to use it more to give it a possible 5 stars.I have had time to use it now. I have a new glass top and am learning to put it on a lower heat to get it started; So far I really like it. Reading the pamphlet that came with it is very informative. 5 stars now. Thank you.

It is extremely difficult to clean the bottom of this pan.
As far distribution of heat, it appears to work well. Cleanability is another story. Any deposits of food that gets into those little dotted crevices on the bottom of the pan is close to impossible to clean. Being a light colored on the bottom makes every particle show up, whereas, a black bottom may not show up, but the food particles will still be there. Not sure why they make the bottom of the pan rough like that but it must have something to do with heat conduction.

LOVE at first sight...ok after first pancake :-)
Ok, so I was skeptical. Would I be able to make my usual crepe-like pancakes for which I normally use a non-stick pan with that icky teflon coating? The answer is a resounding YES. The pancakes turned out beautifully! I used coconut oil and butter and heated the pan first until water droplets would dance (as was recommended in the instructions) and not steam. Then I fried up golden-brown, yummy, paper-thin pancakes on low to medium heat. Clean up was a breeze. LOVE this skillet!!!

Red enamel clad iron frying pan.
This is a great pan for frying. The sides are a little low for mixing sauces and gravies, however. I love the enamel cladding. It doesn't scratch my glass cook top and it doesn't rust.

UGH
I wouldn't buy this product again. the skillet bottom has 'dimples' which makes it very hard to clean completely. So I use my other cast iron skillet all the time and never use this one.....
