Excellent device and great value purchase. Complements bridging the gap between newer equipment not having HDMI and older HDMI equipment. I consider this an essential buy for anyone wanting to bridge technology gaps. Works well right out of the box. Would purchase again.

Worked great on my Lenovo laptop and AOC monitor

This adapter works great with my Yoga 910. Smooth video on my 4K TV. The only problem is that the audio signal is not available on my Lenovo laptop USB C port, so sound is not transmitted through the HDMI adapter. I don't know how well this adapter will work with laptops that may have sound at their usb port (if they exist.) There are workarounds. Of course there are many ways now to mirror you laptop screen. This adapter gives me a great 4k experience on my TV, and I connect sound using my laptop blue-tooth connection through my yamaha sound system. Sound syncs perfectly with the video! I highly recommend this adapter if you want to connect to a hdmi tv as long as you have another way to connect to sound if you have a usb connector no sound issue. If all you intend to do is use the adapter for presentations perhaps through a projector, then this is a excellent way to do so.

I have to note for the record that I bought a "used" product. Although, this adapter had never been opened and for the inexpensive price, I was willing to risk it. I thought I was going to have some compatibility issues as I was connecting to a very old Dell monitor (before the wide landscape monitors were a fad) so I had my doubts, but it works perfectly. I have it set up from the monitor with a short DVI-D to HDMI adapter, an HDMI cord, and then the HDMI cord to this HDMI to USB-C adapter to my Lenovo Yoga. Perfect, no issues whatsoever. Works exactly as we needed it to.

Allows me to hook up my Thinkpad P50 to my Samsung 7 series and get 4K60p 4:4:4 out. This was important because the laptop only has DP 1.2 and HDMI 1.4, the former having the bandwidth for 4K60p but only could be actively adapted (meaning expensive, and usually bad adapters that may or may not handle the colorspace correctly and may subsample chroma); passive adapters would only link at 1.4 bandwidth, and 1.4 only has enough bandwidth for 4K30. Unfortunately, seems I can't leverage HDR on my device, which wasn't really a hard requirement for me. The USB-C alt mode is leveraging DP under the hood, which on this laptop is spec'd 1.2. Ergo, no HDR support, and it appears according to Nvidia documentation that HDR was never supported. Seems I can't get 10 bit color out of the quadro either, which is a bummer.

For monitors that don't have USB-C. After having issues with my HDMI ports, older dongles, and 4k monitors and refresh rates, I decided to try this dongle because it is HDMI 2.0. I can confirm that a MacBook Pro and a Lenovo Ideapad 5 both can send 4k at 60 Hz with dongle. Works great, feels very high quality and it's plug and play.

Bought 3 of these, one for output from the tablet and two for the dock. Seemed to work fine in the USB-C port of my Surface Pro 7. Connected to the Surface Dock 2 and will not display unless you take out the HDMI connection and plug it back in. Then anytime you remove the Dock 2 from Surface Pro 7 and reconnect it, it again displays nothing. So you have to trick it by again removing the HDMI connection. Didn't bother opening the other 2, and returned all 3. On to trying the next solution...sigh

Salut, j'ai acheté cet adaptateur afin de connecter un second écran externe à mon pc via le port usb c. Je ne sais pas pour quelles raisons, mon appareil ne reconnait pas du tout l'adaptateur. Malgré mon travail d'informaticien, le problème ne peut pas être résolu. Un conseil, commandez-en un autre que celui-ci!

I have used other models in the past but they break from constant insertion and removal, especially if done many times throughout the day. This model is enough to handle that punishment and is secure when inserted.
