I purchased these for my wife. She wanted a lighter pair of binoculars and is very happy with the weight and quality of this model.

Great binoculars - light, compact, & quality glass!!
I already own a pair of Nikon Monarch 7s in 8x30 (really nice), but I wanted something with more magnification. I have woods in the back of my house, and want to be able to use binocs for deer about 60 yds away, in addition to bird watching. 8x will work, but for my purpose, more magnification is better as I want to see deer racks in as much detail as possible. I couldn't decide between 10x or 12x. I ordered a pair of Nikon M5s in 12x42, and these Zeiss Terra ED binocs in 10x32 for a direct comparison. The Nikon 12x42s were nice, but…compared to the Zeiss, they were harder to focus sharply, had to constantly be re-focused, were more difficult to hold steady, and the image they presented was not quite as sharp and detailed as that provided by the Zeiss. My choice was clear - the Nikons went back. The Terra EDs are quick and easy to focus, offering a very sharp, crisp image. They are relatively compact and light, at only 18 ounces, which is very important to me given my prior experience with heavy binoculars. In my opinion, the 32mm objective lens size is a great compromise between light gathering ability and reasonably sized optics. The exit pupil size of 3.2mm is plenty given that I’ll only be using these in the daytime. The 10 power magnification gives me the added power that I want, while still allowing me to hold them steady and also affording a decent field of view.I like the rubber armoring on the body of these Terra EDs, and the tactile feel provided will be great for holding onto them if they are wet. The ocular lens caps are nice - they are deep and would be unlikely to come off by themselves. While the included case is nice, the drawback is that the binoculars with strap attached will not fit inside it. You can still put the binocs in the case, leave the strap out and partially zip the case closed, but it’s not ideal..As a side note - I have a bad astigmatism in my right eye, requiring me to wear glasses when driving. I was able to use these without glasses, and get a perfectly clear image by adjusting the right-eye diopter appropriately. The Terra EDs use German glass and are assembled in China, but I can live with that given the lifetime USA warranty on optics. (please note, I spoke to a Zeiss rep directly - Amazon.com Services LLC is an authorized Zeiss dealer for the U.S. warranty, but a third party seller on Amazon may not be, so be aware of that). All in all, these are compact, quality binoculars, and I’m very happy with my purchase!
