Our dryer kept getting a hold of strings and ties on the clothes and then twisting up the whole load of laundry.I had no idea that these slides in the dryer wore down over time.When addressing another problem with the dryer, I came across some bits of old dryer slides and one that still was intact. They are very easy to replace, and now the dryer doesn't "catch" the laundry. It runs more quietly too.

About the only part on a normal dryer that wears out are these ... uh ... wear strips! The first dryer we had (nearly 40 years ago) had a similar arrangement and all I ever did was put in new wear strips every 3-4 years. At 23 years, the motor finally quit. The local parts dealer wanted $230 for a motor and the Internet and (appliancepartspros.com) wasn't around yet so we bought the present dryer!. Eureka. As it turns out, neither dryer was labeled General Electric BUT both were made by General Electric. And the newer design was even easier to check the wear strips! Sure enough, every 3-4 years the dryer starts making that little scraping noise as it runs signalling those slide strips need replacement. BTW, do NOT wait months to replace these. If allowed to continue for a long time (ie, months), the drum [carries the clothes around and round] will wear into the plastic framework that holds the wear strips and supports the front of the drum. Yes, it is also replaceable but why spend another $30 - $40 and the extra hour or so if you don't need to, eh!So we bought the wear strip kit ( Dryer Drum Slide Kit 4 Pack for General Electric, Hotpoint, WE1M316, WE1M333, WE1M481 ) and headed for the laundry room with a Phillips head screwdriver and a can of silicon spray. Four screws and 15 minutes later we had installed four wear strips, sprayed them with the silicone, reassembled the dryer and were drying clothes. You can check but I would guess to have the local repair guy come to the house for that would run $175 - $200. Just amazing what you can do with a screwdriver! :-)BTW, while you have the front off to replace the wear strips, take the opportunity to clean out all the lint in and around and under the dryer. A vacuum with a few extensions and the long narrow nozzle will make short work of the lint. Do NOT go banging into things / wires too hard, ya hear! LoL If you find a lot of lint (like inches thick) under the machine, make sure the ductwork (from dryer to outside vent) is not clogged and that all the joints have been taped properly. Lint can be a fire hazard if it piles up too much in the wrong places. I clean that ductwork every 6 months (the outside vent cover more often even).

These are decent aftermarket replacements, and will do the job in a pinch. In my experience, these Delrin (HDPE) slides did not even last 1 year in my household. Classic example of "You get what you pay for". I replaced both the front and rear bearing slides at the same time.Longevity issue aside, I would order this kit as spare parts to use as the outer pair of slides; but for the TOP pair (which gets the most wear) I will go back to using the genuine "green" slides made of a different, more robust material. The same goes for the rear bearing I used, which was also made of Delrin.These parts are easy to change out, but that doesn't mean I want to change them out every year.

We had a dryer which worked very well except for randomly making earsplitting squeals. wife wanted a new one but I popped off the front panel and noticed the drum had worn through the plastic wear strips. Bought a bag of these online and problem solved. Very easy fix anyone can do. We got a couple more years of service from our dryer.

If your dryer is squeaking, it's most likely due to worn teflon bearings. Save yourself a boatload of money by replacing them yourself. If you know how the front of the dryer comes off, it's a 10-minute repair job.These bearings -- although listed by the manufacturer as the correct replacement part -- are not an exact fit. They do, however, work.

Our current drum slides were completely gone. Wish I had replaced these earlier as the drum was starting to rub away on the plastic door parts. These four pieces went in easy and certainly will keep me from having to replace a more expensive part.

Cheap replacement part.So far so good, but let's see how long it lasts.I found installation instructions on youtube which made it very easy.

Did not receive the parts which were ordered. Seller did not provide the GE Dryer part WE1M1067 as described.Picture provided by the seller does not match what you will receive!GE dryers require two different types of drum slides. The lower slides are WE1M504 white slides. The upper slides are WE1M1067 green slides. These slides are made of DIFFERENT MATERIALS. I ordered the WE1M1067 GREEN slides, which are required by GE Owner's manual. I received white slides. These are not the correct parts, and are not made of the correct material.I contacted the seller and received the response that they are made to "FIT" in the same place. This does not mean that they are made of the correct material. They are cheap aftermarket parts and picture is NOT representative of the parts received.Also, seller stated that a warranty card is provided with the sale. There is no warranty card sent with the order.
