The narration is detailed and informative. The many photos are of excellent quality and really bring to life these famous names of yesteryear.

Thought I knew most of everything that went on in the west but this book top me and things I didn't know it all

If you are interested in the history, and like to get a specific view of this particular section of American History, this book is for you.The author presents a pretty complete grouping of gunslingers in the unruly western section of America in the late 1800’s. Indeed it’s a strange time, a very short section of time, but so odd that it has become strangely important.The writer had dug into the life of the gunfighters and comes up with so much info one can see the character of each one. The things you see will startle the readers.So, this is a good book, well organized and adequately written. If your a history buff its a nice addition to your library especially if you are interested in this time in American history.

A 2016 Chartwell Books release, GUNFIGHTERS should appeal to Wild West fans of all ages.Cimino divides his account into sections on 'Gamblers and Gunslingers,' 'Outlaws and Vigilantes,' 'Lawmen and Peacekeepers,' 'Bnak Robbers and Bad Men' and 'Misfits and Serial Killers.' Inside the various sections, readers will find such notables as Ben Thompson, Luke Short, Clay Allison, Billy the Kid, Wyatt Earp, the Dalton Brothers, Sam Bass, kid Curry, Henry Starr and Harry Tracy. Each write-up is fulsome and wide-ranging. The Jesse James chapter, for example, runs 12 pages and includes bios/side-bars on William Quantrill, the Younger Brothers, the Pinkerton Agency, Frank James' later years and the fate of Bob Ford.The boo is illustrated with many vintage b&w photographs, scenes and posters from classic western movies and color artwork along with two-page color spreads on Colt, Remington and Winchester firearms. Visually, the book is a delight.GUNFIGHTERS is a fine addition to the books on the Wild West. Authoritative, exciting and well-illustrated, the book is a 'must have' for anyone interested in all those Wild West legends, bad and good, who lived - and often died - by the gun. Highly recommended.
