5 Stars is an understatement
Great book, a must read for any coach, executive coach or anyone who's interested in strengthening relationships with clients or customers!

Over priced and badly written
This rates as one of the most disappointing books I have ever purchased! It's exhorbitantly expensive and it's content based on limited, confused and repetitive theories. It has two authors and the sharp contrast in styles and handling of content is shamelessly apparent. Although one author is better than the other both intellectually and stylistically, it certainly isn't enough to render the book worth reading. It's careless in conception and shabby in execution. Don't waste your money.

the book is interesting to read. A lot of complex concepts are explained clearly. I use this book for my PhD research paper

Irritating
I keep trying to read this book but am always met with such frustration that I keep having to throw it down. The lack of knowledge demonstrated in psychotherapy, psychoanalysis and philosophy and the flippant dismissive attitude towards these fields is infuriating. These disciplines created most of these ideas that neuroscience is now beginning to evidence. There's also too much low level explanation of how the brain works and not enough elaboration around application.

Not enough novel content
I hoped that this book would bring a new dimension to my coaching with its avowed intent to bring together the field practices of executive coaching and the lab work of neuroscientists. In this aim, it at best partly succeeds. Although the book trumpets its use of scientific terminology, much of the content is similar to other coaching books.Through their rather breathless tone, Brown and Brown attempt to convey their excitement about the rapidly changing world of neuroscience and how it can inform coaching. Their excitement is probably justified, but is belied by the book's prosaic content.

Insightful, readable, thought-provoking
A great book which takes what could be a complicated subject and makes it easy to read and digest. The authors do a wonderful job of presenting what is known about the brain and relating that to how it can be used in coaching without making rash and fanciful claims that are sometimes seen in other publications. Insightful, readable and thought-provoking.

All mouth no trousers
Haven't finished this yet, but at 3/4 way through I'm stlll waiting for the authors to put forward a working model of what they propose. There is lots of background about how the brain works, interesting discoveries in neuroscience etc, but the book seems a bit thin in terms of real content or real examples for coaches to use. The examples I have read don't seem to show anything different from what you might do in any other type of coaching.
