A 4.7 Wow, Synopsis & Review
Being my first Chapin book, I had no familiarity any characters from other books, but this didn’t diminish my enjoyment. The author gave you an introductory note, which let you know the theme of the book. That theme was people going through difficulties, who may not at first see how God can and in fact, is working in their lives. The story focuses on a widow of three years. Angie lost her husband Ted after just two years of marriage. Serenah has, because of the fire in Angie’s apartment, the leverage to compel Angie to fly out to Spokane to stay with her at the Inn on the Lake.On the first leg of her journey, a male passenger runs into the plane and takes his seat next to Angie at the last minute. On her next flight to Spokane, she is once again sitting next to the same man (who we find later is named Connor). A half hour into the flight, they experience rough turbulence. The pilot gives them a warning, when suddenly the plane drops, people scream. Angie is praying. Oxygen masks fall from above. Angie struggles to untangle the masks. The man beside her reaches over and untangles them. As she looks into his eyes, she also sees fear in his eyes. The man, takes her hand and begins to pray. As the book states, “in the midst of the most fearful moment of my life, I found myself in prayer with a stranger.” And then the book follows with this figure of speech, “Life & death danced in the moment. Anything could happen.” The plane soon is righted, the emergency is over. As they are coming in for their landing, the man reaches into his backpack and pulls out a small white cardboard box, and then turns and hands her the box. She asks, what’s this for? He says, it is a thank you for holding his hand and praying with him. He informs her that his business card is in the box, and asks her to call him sometime. That really is the BEST part of the book and everything else keys off of that incident.Angie loves seeing snow for the first time, being able to relax at the Inn and see Serenah. At a holiday gathering, many encourage Angie to start dating. It is then, she remembers the man, the box, and finds out it is a beautiful Christmas ornament. She gives him a text and they meet, they click, and things seem to be accelerating. But Connor has an event in his life that he feels disqualifies him from being a part of Angie’s life, especially because she had a husband who died. She meets some interesting people, gets some good advice, but feels she must return home, even though she is sad that her relationship with Connor fizzled. In a spectacular climax, Emma dies. Angie knowing how distraught Serenah will be, decides not to fly back home, but returns to the Inn. She sees Connor at the funeral, he asks if they can talk, but Angie doesn’t feel it is the right time or place. He asks her to call if she gets a minute and informs that he is flying out to New Zealand in two days. She does call him, but declines his request to come over and talk. So like life, we meet people, they impact our lives, but then we are off to somewhere and we never see them again. You figure that is just about the end of the story, but NO. As Angie is sitting on in her seat, the plane on the tarmac, she hears a repeated knock. Looking out the window, she sees it is Connor. The one thing she hears is, “I don’t want to just ‘go on living my life [without you].’” She grabs her purse and heads for the exit. The flight attendant informs her that Connor will likely go to jail! He is in with security for three hours before he is released. He tells her that he cannot live without her. He gives her a necklace with the coordinates of where they had prayed together during the storm. He tells her that he believes God uses the storms we go through in life to not just bring people together, but to become closer to God. He then says he loves her. That’s the story.Loved it, loved the emphasis on clinging to God regardless of circumstances, and the emphasis on prayer. What I found slightly disappointing was that after the dynamic 142-page story, you had another 493 LOCs of previews from other books and stuff. That said, I would read more by this author.

One excellent (Christmas) Christian Romance read!
One Moday Prayer, written by T.K. Chapin, is book 5 in the Diamond Lake series. This is just an awesome Christian Romance series by this author. He has taken each book and brought out a character from a previous book and created a book with love, faith and passion to keep me turning those pages and wanting yet another book in the series. This book was not a disappointment! One Monday Prayer is a Christmas (holiday) Christian romance where we meet Angie, Serenah’s cousin that we heard about in a previous book who is from Tampa. I love the depth of character that Chapin creates with Angie and how real-life he creates his characters in these books. She’s a young widow who has just gone through a tragic fire to her apartment and Serenah encourages her to travel to the Inn on the Lake to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas. Angie has gone through the grieving time over the last two years, but now is introduced to dating again. We are also introduced to Connor again, who is Katie’s brother that helped her shoot pics at Serenah and Charlie’s wedding. Chapin shows us the vulnerable side of Connor, a very real quality that sometimes guys try to hide. Yet again, Chapin takes us through the story on real-life characteristics and through each step he shows an honorable Christian point of view through the character’s attitudes and behaviors.I thoroughly enjoy this Christmas Christian romance and recommend each book in the series. Each book can be read as a stand alone, but I think by reading them in order you get a more complete story of the series...but you can enjoy them singularly too.

One Monday Prayer
I enjoyed reading One Monday Prayer, it made feel giddy and I love that it was set around the holidays. I could visualize all the Christmas decorations and parties. The story reminded me of a Hallmark Christmas movie, in fact this story should be a Hallmark Christmas movie. I wanted to curl up with my favorite cup of coffee and just drift away into this story. I loved the changes that I saw in Charlie, he was a better man because of the difficult things he experienced in his past. And the prayer scenes on the plane and at the party were like icing on the cake. It was a joy to read a story where a man had a good relationship with the Lord and did not mind praying no matter where he was at.

Starting Over
Angie often wondered where her life would end up. Her husband had died two weeks before Christmas several years ago and since the she hadn't really celebrated the holiday. Now her apartment building had burned down and it would be at least two months before the next one would be ready so she can was on her way to Newport to spend time with her cousin. On the plane she meets Connor and they support one another when they run into severe turbulence. Turn around and faith based.

One Monday Prayer
Sweet love story. Two people come together after a shared prayer on an airplane. After several occurrences, they realize they can’t do life alone.

My Christmas Books
I have downloaded a lot of Christmas Books. But, this one really touched my heart. I'm glad to see that prayers still work and people believe. I do and I'm glad your characters even believe. This was an outstanding book. Congratulations
