Works as advertised! HandyMel is WRONG!
HandyMel is obviously biased about this product and it makes me mad that he's review is the most helpful on this page. If you watch his review you will see that he's using the Nomatic bag wrong. To the point where it just doesn't make any sense. Of course, it's not going to work right when you stick a packing cube into a compression bag! You're just defeating the purpose of this bag. And I don't know what stakes he had in the other compression bags, which I would have gladly tried if they were actually still in business! But he obviously didn't stuff packing cubes into those. This bag works great. I've been using it for weeks and it hasn't given me any problems and DOES compress my clothes very nicely. Sure it's not going to be completely air free. its not a vacuum bag. But in the handful of times that I've used it, it hasn't expended to anywhere near it being called useless or defective. I use this bag to compress 4 days of clothes regularly. It allows me to use a very small 21L backpack without having to overstuff the bag, with LOTS of room to spare. Its been an absolute pleasure to use and well worth the $30 bucks. Though I will admit that it's still expensive for what it is and I wish it were cheaper. I would get more of these for the whole family. If it was half the price it would be perfect! I also wouldn't mind a smaller version. That would be fun :)

Nice idea, but compresses your wallet better than your travel clothing.
The media could not be loaded. It's a compression clothing bag that tries to use a vacuum seal to save space with your clothing. Ultimately it just isn't effective you are using it with packing cubes already and put them in it. You will not gain any more compression. If however you are packing your clothes loosely (folded) into it, there is some value. I didn't get the same number of clothing items (shirts and pants) to compress any smaller than using a traditional packing cube. I think the primary reason for the failure to really deliver on it's promise is a combination of 2 design choices. The nylon reinforcement alont the top bag seal ultimately causes the main bag opening to not retain its seal over a period of more than 5 minutes. The choice of a rotary vacuum valve is a issue as well in that it isn't a one way valve. As soon as you release pressure on the bag air starts getting back in through it. You really have to wrestle with the bag to get the air out too, so that adds to it being a fairly big hassle. there are several other packing cube or traditional roll top dry bag options out there that deliver what this item aims to, and they do it for less. in the end its a 2 start product for the limited used case of packing clothes in without another cube involved.

Nomatic Luggage Organizer Compression Vacuum Bag
I purchased the larger Nomatic backpack with all the accessories in place. It's a nice compression bag. Place your clothing (in my case, my snacks too), roll up the top portion to remove the air. Then slowly close the air valve. Finally tighten the air valve, and you have a nicely compressed bag of clothing. The valve seems sturdy but I can see it loosening in about a year as I have used these types of compression bags before. Decent quality of construction, thick material. Alittle on the heavy side. RECOMMEND: a good buy if you're also using the larger Nomatic backpack.

Overpriced, Underwhelmed
Maybe I just don't get the concept, but this thing was a complete disappointment and completely overpriced for what you get. It's basically just a big bag with no way to seal it, making it rather difficult to actually get the air out of it. I returned it and am purchasing trusty old Gonex compression packing cubes instead - you can fit more in 4 pack of them for less than the price of this one item, and they actually make sense. I think you're basically just paying for the brand.

Didn’t last very long
I loved this product. I bought it earlier this year to use on a two week long trip out west. I’m currently on my second trip, and the bad ripped along the top seam. Before right now, I loved it, but it should last more than a few months.

Works as advertised
Vacuum bag is solid and made of high quality material. Only issue is that the bag doesn't offer a truly complete seal, the bag will be technically open, but if folded down very tight will work to provide the vacuum seal as intended. Turned a whole pile of clothes for a week that fit the entire nomatic bag, and turned it into 1/3 the size with the vacuum bag, plenty of space left for other items and souvenirs.
