Now I feel Like a Golf Pro eating a Hamburger Dog at the U.S. Open
Since I saw and read how a little hot dog stand, that is inside the Olympic Golf Course, San Francisco, that plays the U.S. Open course, called Hot Dog Bill's Hamburger Stand is such a big hit with the golfers for over nearly 50 years, I thought I'd give it a try to recreate it.In one of the articles that I read, it said that members at Olympic could buy a meat mold, like the one at Hot Dog Bills in their Golf Pro shop, but when I went to their web page, I guess if you are a non-member you are not going to able to buy it.So the next best thing was to buy something like it here on Amazon. All I can say is, that it will take a little time to get use to it and to determine the right amount of ground beef to put into it so it doesn't over flow the tube, but after awhile I got the hang to it and was able to come up some hamburger dogs, like the ones that the Daughter that took over her father's business at Hot Dog Bills on the golf club makes and Boy! did they taste great!I seasoned them up with a little lawry's season salt, added some fresh cut onions and some Trader Joes organic ketchup, and I was forced to eat two! Ha Ha yes there was a gun to my head ha ha haYour Kids Will Love Um!Just make sure that you get the bigger, more sturdy type hot dog buns at the market as the ball park buns I used were just ok. On youtube , just type hamburger dog in search and or look up All-American Burger Dog!, still on Youtube with the fun teaching chef from foodwishes , who will show you how he cooks his and season it right. One of my friends that I cooked one up for is going to purchase one for his family, something for a nice change if you are going to do backyard BBQ's or picnics... also can be used on a fry pan (and it's dishwasher safe)All ready made a bunch up for today, the Labor Day HolidayUpdate: 9/7/12 For those who are thinking to buy this product because you either read or saw on TV re: "Hot Dog Bill's" Hot Dog Stand that sells "Hamburger Dogs", and was looking to find their exact mold, then go to hotdogbills dot com (sorry I had to spell out dot com in luie of .com as I notice that amazon does not allow web sites in their reviews, so I hope you get the drift?) I still love my Ham Dogger, as Hot Dog Bill's sell thier H.D. Mold for over $25.00 over $30.00 for tax and shipping, but at least you can go to thier web site and just look at it and see the difference on how they make their Hamburger Dogs.Hope you like this update?

It's okay but I can make a better Ham-Dog without it
The media could not be loaded. I have been on a little bit of a hot dog kick lately and I decided to try this little gadget out. It seems cute and well made. I used 80/20 ground beef and sprayed the inside of the Ham Dogger with a non-stick spray. In order to keep the ham dog from falling apart I had to hand roll it into a cylinder before I put it in the mold. The ham dog shrunk quite a bit during cooking so if I had it to do over I might have used a 90/10 ground beef mix although the resulting ham dog would not have been as tasty as it was.My final conclusion is that, although this is an inexpensive, nifty little item, I can roll a better hot dog shaped hamburger with my own hands. I decided to make this little video so that you can judge for yourself. I hope that it is helpful to you.

GREAT FOR COOKOUTS
I found this easy to use. I lined the unit with plastic wrap to ease the removal from unit. I used approximately 4 oz of ground beef. I then use the plastic wrap to wrap up the "dogs" and freeze them. I live alone. When I use them I put them in the toaster oven at 350 for 20 minutes.

Fun, but hard to cook it all the way through
This is a fun tool, but I've found it hard to get the burger dog the cook all the way through.

For when you want to be different!
I found this to be very easy to use. The instructions are right on the back of the package! I had my husband put half of the (half burger and half sausage mixed together) on the bottom as I put the fillings on and then had him put the rest of the burger mixture on top. It just make it easier and less messy this way with two people to help. Oh and I used plastic wrap and that was a breeze because the burger mixture didn't stick that way. This is nice when you have company and are firing up the grill to cook hotdogs and burgers and you can just buy one type of bun for all. It's also nice because you know what's going into it without all of the persevatives. Plus you can put your favorite ingredients inside such as mushrooms, green peppers, various cheeses, hot peppers, etc...

Easier than it looks!!!
Bought this last summer and with meat shortages, didn't get to use it until now...Wow the meals missed not using this!!!A little messy to use, but once you make one, you get the hang of how much to pack into the maker.Definitely will be using this as often as possible to make 1/4 pound bacon cheeseburger dogs to perfection!!!

Delicious, unique meals
What a great little contraption. It is the mixture of two cornerstone American means - the hotdog and hamburger. My favorite part about this is how diverse you can make the "ham dog." You can go from beef to turkey to sausage and it will all work great. On top of that you can mix in cheeses, onions, peppers, mushrooms, just about anything! I have made some really creative meals with this ham dogger. As far as use, it is very simple. I was able to pick it up and use it without any need for instructions. In goes the meat and out pops a perfect "ham dog." I have only had issues with the "ham dog" breaking once and that was due to me overloading it with veggies.I will be buying this as gifts for others. I would recommend it in a heart beat. Buy this product, you won't regret it. 5/5

Does not work as it should
This thing looks like it would work but it did not for me. The hamburger sticks to the plastic even after i coated it with butter. Tried doing one without filling and one with, neither worked . The burgers fell apart on the grill. Burger does not stay together while cooking.

Just a gag
Works great but it's messy and hard to use. It's a good gag gift or if you have time to kill.

FUN FUN
I took ground turkey and mixed it with taco seasoning, let it sit in the fridge for a bit. Then I rolled up 4 dogs topped with sliced green olives and rolled them all into pieces of foil. Cooked in the BBQ in the foil for a few minutes removed the foil and BBQ'd the until done. Topped with all the regular taco stuff what fun. I have also tried ground lamb with Greek seasoning and ground pork with maple bacon seasoning. I now have several rolled up in foil in the freezer ready for our next BBQ!. Can't wait.

Very overpriced
After receiving the item it became immediately apparent it was not worth the price! The company agreed to accept a return, but at my cost - my cost being about 70% of the purchase price! Appears as though it could be considered a bit of a scam??!!
