Oh Crud was designed for color blind people, even if they can only see gray tones (monochromacy). Each suit (card color) also has a shape, so the player just needs to sort their cards by shape, and follow suit by playing the same shape. Oh Crud was designed by a color blind person who struggles mostly with red & green colors, but we wanted to make this game playable by anyone with any level of color blindness. Fun fact: According to colorblindawareness.org, approximately 8% of men and 0.5% of women worldwide have some sort of color vision deficiency. This equates to about 4.5% of the entire population or roughly 355 million people worldwide.

It can be too easy with only 2 players because you know if you don’t have a card, the other guy does. Therefore, we dealt 6 cards to an imaginary player and that helped. The game is more fun if there are more players.

Does this game have any strategy or is it all luck?

The game involves both luck and strategy. Luck, because of the cards you are dealt, and the dice that was rolled before for each round. Strategy, because there are ways to turn your luck around, depending on how you play your cards. There are only 9 cards of each suit, so you can strategically play your cards to avoid getting Crud (points). Sometimes you are better off taking Crud on one trick, so you can avoid taking a lot more Crud on a later trick. There is a lot of strategy to the game, and the number of players will affect your strategy. More players = more chances of being able to slough your high cards of another suit. You must follow suit if you have it, but if you don't have that suit, you can play any suit. Sometimes it's best to take a trick (and possibly Crud with it), just so you can take the lead - and play the card you want to play, instead of playing what you have to play when someone else leads. The game is a challenge and really makes you think. In summary: yes, it involves a lot of strategy.
