There's a lil tab on side push to open and then to close for safety

Does this work as a heat protectant?

I bought this. I don’t think it does anything for my hair. I would not buy this and try another product

Do you apply to wet or dry hair?

You can apply to both. I have wavy / straight hair so it does get tacky. I don’t recommend using it if your intention is to have a smooth blow out. When I wear my hair in curly styles it’s great. I spray it when my hair is still wet. When I want to refresh my waves, I spray a little on and it give my hair a shiny boost until wash day. I hope this helped.
