Q: Can the entire sensor unit be submerged in the pool? Not just the cable part?

No, just the cable. We have plans to make a floating sensor for pools, but until then, you need to put the sensor where it will not be submerged. This is not a fully company-encouraged solution but some customers put these in a tupperware style sealed container, drill a hole for the probe, caulk that up, and leave it to float in the pool or hot tub. It's a little DIY and not the best solution but I wanted to share that with you in case that might be an option for you. Enjoy! Eric with YoSmart

Q: Can this be used to measure temp inside a chest freezer? Will signal get out of the chest freezer?

The model in my freezer and refrigerator works great. If you already have a hub, I don’t see why the model you’re asking about wouldn’t work inside a freezer.

Q: How to replace the two AAA batteries?

Remove 4 small rubber "pads" at the corners. Remove 4 small Phillips screws. Remove cover. Replace batteries. Reinstall.

Q: Can I put this inside a water reservoir to detect when the water reaches a certain height?

We actually have a Water Level Monitoring Sensor that would be much better for your application. It comes with a water-sensitive probe, and the sensor can also work with standard float switches.
