Clearly a step up
This product has a value price point. That means it ain't cheap and it ain't at all bad. I love the speed and dexterity afforded by the Windows 11 prograe.m So easy to set up it almost does all the work for you. Automatically makes cloud storage accessible will every thing you need from your pervious storage. Found the fingerprint identification a bit more difficult to manage. Overall above my expectations.

What a bummer
So after almost a full day of putting my stuff on - buying Microsoft Word for $150 - this it what it all came down to (see pictures). So I called for a return asking how I could get my stuff off of it as well as recouping the added software, only to find out that all I can do is return it. No help offered at all. I got it to replace a laptop that failed after years and to take on our vacation — so can’t take it and can’t pack it up and drop it off on my way out of town because the only way the seller will take it back is by a UPS pickup. I’m disappointed and have never had this happen with a laptop ever. I will not rebuy. I just hope I get my refund ok. It was nice at first, but slowly but surely it got super slow and started freezing up. Then it would not reboot well and I kept getting a big black screen….leading up to the nice blue message telling me I’m pretty much SOL. Sigh!!!!!!

My second HP Pavilion
I was very happy with my first, so when it failed after nearly 12 years I went for another. It's still early days with this one, so my overall rating is somewhat cautious. But I preferred the more easily readable keyboard on my old one. I may follow the lead of some other reviewers and look for stickers to apply to keys to help out my aging eyes. I also miss the CD slot. Although I didn't use it much in the old one, it was nice to have. And this one doesn't have a touchscreen, btw. Not a problem, but it might be for some. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and have been using it, as I'd hoped, with a sense of familiarity and with no problems. Hoping for another 10-12 years.

Great Laptop
I’m very satisfied with this laptop but disappointed it was in Windows 11 S instead of 11. I didn’t realize this until I tried to add Webroot. It seems this can be changed fairly easily. The keyboard is very hard to see the characters, I might have to replace the keys or use key stickers. Set up was easy and so far I love the performance.

Excellent laptop
I am not a gamer or a tech guy just needed a second computer. Very pleased with this laptop. Large screen with excellent picture, adequate ports for wired mouse, etc. Holds battery charge well. Very fast processors make it speedy with document loading, downloads etc. I would recommend it for the average user or family who need a laptop. Because of the screen size it’s a bigger unit but still easy to transport.

Drains battery too quickly
I purchased the computer and immediately Amazon dropped the price $50. So then I purchased one for my husband, and once again, they dropped it another $50 after the fact. That is annoying, but my biggest frustration is the fact that this thing powers through the battery in no time flat. I started a zoom meeting at 100% charge and 90 minutes later it was down to 43%. In addition, the keyboard is very difficult to read. Overall this is still a good value. But that value comes at a price.

Failed Right Out of the Box
We couldn't even finish setting up this laptop before some critical error occurred and the whole thing failed. It stopped being able to read its own memory, or it's motherboard or something, but it immediately became completely unusable. No falls or hits or heat or anything; it just died so fast we couldn't even finish setting it up. Was extremely disappointing.Had gotten it for my dad to start to get into computers for business, and the experience almost made him hate modern technology in general. I'm sure this is a rare occurrence for this model (I hope) but I myself won't be touching HP stuff for the foreseeable future. Never seen that happen before.
