Surgeon's Skin Secret(Unscented, 120ml) - Beeswax Moisturiser Jar

I am a nurse and have always had severe problems with chapped and cracking skin on my hands. Also suffer with eczema. This moisturizer is the only thing I have found that helps heal and soften my hands. I have doctored with dermatologists and have tried many different prescription meds with no help. It is a little sticky and waxy so use sparingly and only when you have time for it to absorb. I like to use it a night and put cotton gloves on when my hands are at their worst. Even with a lot of use this jar will last a long time and is well worth the cost. I would think this would work equally as well for problem skin on feet. One of the few products that I would rate 5++ stars and would highly recommend it.

I first started using Surgeon's Skin Secret about 15 or 20 years ago. Thankfully, they have not changed the basic, pure formula at all. It is absolutely the BEST product for promoting rapid, pain free healing for everything from chapped hands and lips to burns, cuts, scrapes, scaly elbows, dry feet........well, you get the picture.It's formula is a very dense consistency of beeswax lanolin and mineral oil. I prefer buying it in the original plastic jar.To get it out of the jar, you sort of scrape the surface with your thumbnail and collect what you need..This is sort of tacky, and I sometimes use a popsicle stick or plastic knife, especially if I need more than a "smidge".The makers also market SSS in plastic tubes. They have added various fragrances to the formula, which in my opinion are unpleasant smelling. The only scent that isn't nasty is lemon, but if you put that on a sore or raw area of skin, the lemon STINGS like CRAZY!!For that and the lack of an applicator, I dropped a star. But I really do love and recommend it for healing.

My hands would get so dry and crack or have skin tear off from working with cardboard, paper, and vehicle markings vinyl all day. Nothing would work to heal them and I was often embarrassed by the look and roughness of my hands. Then I discovered this and it truly works. It isn't an instant overnight treatment, but with regular daily use for about 2 weeks my hands really made a turn around and I couldn't be happier.

I love this and order it over and over again and have been using it for over 10 years. Great for any area that are extra dry like heels and elbows. A little goes a long way. This is not a lotion, it’s like a wax. If you are wanting a lotion, skip this one but if you want something for those extra dry areas, it’s perfect.

I have used this stuff for about 5 years now. If they were to ever stop making it - I don't know what I would do. I have two little girls who both get eczema patches in the wintertime. For a long time I thought that a steroid cream was my only option. Then I found this. Like another reviewer - I did not like this stuff at first. It is VERY waxy and not easy to apply. But, I am totally against using chemical filled products so I stuck with this & tried to make it work. After years of use and patience, I have found that the BEST way to use this stuff is to keep it next to the shower. I pull out a "chunk" and start working it my fingers to get it good & "melty". Pair it with some hot water & it will glide well over skin IN THE SHOWER or TUB! Then, when I get my daughter out - I will pat her dry with the towel (not rub or else I will rub the wax off of her skin). Then I put her pajamas on as normal. When she wakes up in the morning - her eczema patches are HEALED! And her skin is baby smooth again. If she has REALLY bad, red, inflamed, itchy patches on her body then it may take 2 or 3 nights of this regimen for the patches to be completely healed.Another thing that I have done: Leave the jar/tub of this stuff near a heat source. I live in an old house so I will leave this jar on top on a shelf over the radiator & it warms the wax jussst enough so that it is more easily spreadable.I have very few "staples" in my house (organic white tea, lemons, granola, almond milk are a few!) and this stuff is probably my ONLY health & beauty staple. It's a must have. LOVE this stuff.**MY ONLY complaint - I hate plastics. (Read up on all of the chemicals in plastics. Esp. the ones with links to various cancers) I wish that this came in a stainless steel, thick glass, or even wooden container. Better for the environment, too.UPDATE 8/13/2013I have started having a reaction every time I use this. I THINK it is to the mineral oil since it is a petroleum derivative. I have ceased using this product on myself. Until I can find something else, I will continue using this for my daughter's eczema patches in the dead of winter. Nothing else compares.
