Must say that I didn't think it would work but it has definitely worked better controlling my breakouts than other treatments I've tried including salicylic acid facial wash and sulfur face wash. It is true that this facewash is pretty strong and can dry out your skin if you have sensitive skin but my skin is pretty oily so this is actually perfect for getting out the oils and making my face feel smoother, less oily, and control the breakouts. I use it twice daily and it has certainly made my face look and feel better. I'm sure it won't work for everyone, but certainly worth a try. Not sure what ingredients in this is working for my acne though, will prob need to search up some stuff. I do use the Kyoku facial lotion with SPF15 during the day so it keeps my face moisturized and protected against the sun on my way to work.Definitely a good product from my own experience.

It's named like a fancy Japanese or Korean skin care product but the company is in NY. I bought a Kyoku scrub before and liked it, but I was told to keep away from abrasives so I got this. It's considered an acne product because of the salicylic acid, but it doesn't dry out my skin. It's a nearly 7 oz. tube (can't put it in my carry on!) and compared to say Kiehls, it's a bargain. I'm a no frills kinda guy, it works well, a little goes a long way, and my skin feels nice afterwards.

This is a great product for me, mild and doesn't leave dry patches, but effective enough to prevent unseemly pimples. I've used the whole Kyoku skin care line and this one is my favorite. Have recommended it to others and heard great things from them as well! Will happily continue using!

Several months ago, I saw an ad on Facebook for a trial Kyoku subscription. It's normally something like $195 for 3 months' worth of product. It included this facial cleanser, lava masque, and facial lotion (actually sunscreen). For the trial, I only had to pay shipping which was $1.95. I gave it a try, and I liked the results. I thought the normal price was outrageous, so I checked Amazon. I found the exact same products, and same quantity, for about $35. Sold! I've only been using this cleanser, and none of the other stuff. I use it once in the morning and once at night. It seems to keep the acne away. In fact, whenever I miss a couple of applications, I usually notice a new pimple or two pop up. The product does dry out my skin, but (I'm assuming) that's how it's designed to work. It doesn't bother me too much. It's a small price to pay for a clear face!

Works very well. It dried out my face at first but now it's fine. I use this 1-2 times daily and it works great. Acne is under control. Skin looks and feels younger and smoother too. I highly recommend.

If you have moderate/severe cystic acne, DO NOT USE ANY KYOKU PRODUCTS!!! The entire routine RUINED my face. I used it for 4 months. I thought it was "purging" but it was only getting worse. I stopped exactly one week ago and have been on a REAL PRESCRIPTION ROUTINE EVER SINCE and my face looks so much better!

I’ve been using this for over a year now. It works exceptionally well. It will dry out sensitive skin, but when combined with a moisturizer, I had no issues. Definitely recommend this cleanser.
