Your search is over…
I don’t always leave reviews but thought it necessary to save people the brain damage I put into searching for a decent fan. I’m not very trusting when it comes to reviews but read enough to pull the trigger on this Dreo. I put it together in 2 minutes. Sleek silver and black design. 12 speeds with a decent remote. Very very powerful and very quiet up to the 10th speed. Still pretty quiet on 11-12 considering it feels like a 10 mph gust of wind. Seriously. It wouldn’t even be necessary to put it that high in a pretty big room. Great distance. It would reach you at 25-30 feet on 10. I’m feeling it nicely on 3 from 8 feet and can’t even hear it. I bought a Dyson based on the name, cool design, and supposed quiet function that I’m packing up to return. It was beautiful but way too loud even at mid-speed and it wasn’t nearly as powerful. I don’t know how it’s got a reputation of being quiet. This Dreo is at least twice as powerful with half the noise and at half the price. Sorry Dyson- I don’t like to bash companies but you’re way overmatched here. I generally hate fans but I’m living without AC in NY humidity. They always feel like they’re just blowing hot air on you. This oddly feels like cold air. I’ve never experienced that with a fan. Trust me people - you’ll be happy with this one. Functions well. Solid build. By far the best tower fan I’ve ever owned.

Just ordered another!
Unless this thing fails in a before it should, it's unbeatable! I am a lasko fan... haha 😄... there's a pun! And...lasko is still a GREAT fan, but this thing is even greater. I stood the two side by side to see where I wanted to put the new one. The one was moving to an extremely well protected semi outdoor location. It didn't take long to realize that I wanted this new fan all to myself in my kitchen AND another in my master bathroom where there's no vent. And while sitting side by side, testing the two brands together, I stumble on the fact that this fan can be controlled with my old lasko remote! I wish I hadn't waited 3 days after this one arrived to set it up because now I have to wait for my new one to arrive. 😁 Like I said, unless this fan fails before its time it's a real powerhouse. It's highest setting is not whisper quiet, but it's not loud at all. It's also extremely versatile with so many settings. Oscillates further than the other brand, has a larger breeze area and looks much easier to clean. We'll see. Oh and it's really a nice looking fan! I wanted the gold one really bad, but will NOT pay $50 more for a nicer color! I doubt you'll regret this purchase even at this piece tag which I find high.

I need 5 more stars, please!!
This fan is hands down ten stars... best I've ever owned and worth every penny!! So quiet I only needed to turn the TV volume up one click when the fan is at the highest speed... other than that, it doesn't interfere with anything. I have no air conditioning and it's the 'dog days' of summer. I sit about 12 feet away from where the fan is and at that distance I feel it like a light, cool breeze from speed 6-8 and higher than that, it's like I'm sitting a foot or two away from it. From speeds 10-12 it feels like it is an inch away. The area of the tower where the air comes out is perfect placement so it isn't wasted on floor and couch beneath me. The remote is simple and easy to use. The Dreo app installs easily, found the fan right away and made the wi-fi connection easily. I love the ability to turn the fan on and off remotely to start cooling down the room before I get home! The app even recognized that I have the Alexa app and automatically brought me to a screen to add the fan to my voice controls so now I can tell Alexa to turn my fan on/off, to a specific number, etc. There's a timer function if you want to save energy and have it turn off after you fall asleep. The lighted display even turns off automatically at night so it won't keep you awake (not that it's bright, but still a very nice feature)! This is my third Dreo product and I'll be a loyal customer singing their praises from the rooftop. The quality and durability of their products is reliable and the safety and convenience features are well thought out. This fan is a great gift for yourself or someone else!!

Absolutely "coolest" fan ever.
My brother has 4 of these in his house when I went to visit. I always sleep with a fan, but all that I've tried haven't compared. The air seems colder, the display, though digital, goes black in a dark room, so that helps too. There's an app you can use to control the fan without getting up. [ the power of the fan is amazing, so you can place it across a room and feel like you're directly in front of it.] There is a remote, and the manual optio on the fan is tap/touch. It is very easily put together in two steps, so children can do it. Literally. It gives the fan noise I desire, but it isn't "loud" either. Also, within the app, you can change the mode [which alternates fan strength & speed for ambiance], as well as the degree of oscillation. I love it. There are color options, but I went basic silver. So, it could potentially fit your room scheme, too. Again, I love it. I'm satisfied and this passed thursday & friday nights, were both restful and rejuvenating. Definite recommendation. Definitely a repeat purchase soon. [I am not a bot. This is not a paid endorsement. You can find me on Facebook, and message me, I would absolutely respond.]

Works Good with Only Two Noticeable Caveats!
It's a great addition to my bedroom and I love its size! It's ALMOST perfect! But the keyword here being: ALMOST! I've noticed two caveats in particular which I feel is worth noting to future potential buyers of this product! That being that one: If you have ANY other electronic device nearby (like in my case a tower heater) that also uses a remote for power on/off, there's a chance it'll still somehow turn on the fan as well! I have a mini-tower heater and the fan relatively near each other, and whenever I turn on/off the heater, the fan ALWAYS triggers without fail as well! Can be a bit annoying at times but it's a minor inconvenience at best! The other caveat being: It always ONLY turns in one direction. To the right. I don't know if it's meant to do either of these two things, or maybe I got a slightly defective unit, but everytime I use the oscillating function of the tower fan, it always ONLY turns to the right. NEVER to the left. And there's no way to change that. Which also makes it a minor inconvenience if the tower fan is not facing the direction it's supposed to. In the end, I end up having to wait all the way until it reaches the maximum left it can go when oscillating, before it then finally turns to the left by itself. Pushing the button on the remote multiple times just stops it or makes it keep going right, without letting it go left ever. Like I said, it's just another minor inconvenience thing but it makes you ensure that you have the fan facing the right direction from the get go, or else you'll be waiting for like a minute or so while it does its rounds again to get back to your ideal position. Then you better push the button on the fan or on the remote quickly, or else you'll miss the mark and have to wait again. It is for these two caveats that I have docked the unit a star. However, it's still quite the nice device, looks sleek, and isn't very loud at all. At least not louder than you'd expect a regular fan to be anyways. Oh yeah, and its 12 fan speeds are brilliant! I love keeping it in the 10 - 12 range when it gets really hot in the bedroom! I am hoping I won't need an AC this year thanks to this fan! And not only that, but the tower fan was also very easy to put together as well! So you'll find no complaints from me there! And I love all the different features and settings it has as well! Yes, truly, if not for those two caveats, this unit would be 5 star worthy to me easily! But alas, it just isn't meant to be, unfortunately. Ah well, that's all for my review. Hope this review helps someone out there! Have a nice day!

Should you get the Dreo tower or circulator fan?
When you think of a tower fan, you typically think it's just a tall thin, more stylish fan that can't compete airflow wise compared to a standard large noisy floor fan. This fan exceeded my expectations. It is a lot more powerful than any other tower fan I've come across and it's relatively quiet even on its max setting compared to a traditional fan. But my favorite part is when you are sleeping you can put it at 6 or 7 for the fan speed and it's whisper quiet and you still feel the fan. So if you don't want to have to sacrifice quietness or the ability to feel the fan, you don't have to. This fan definitely eliminates that issue. The fan is a smart fan, so you are able to customize the settings through the easy to use phone app. You can even link it to your Google account routines so it can auto turn on at a set time and turn off at a set time which is convenient for those who are on a sleep schedule. A few people have mentioned that the fan auto shuts off in the middle of the night? I know you can set an auto off timer through the app, but personally I've never experienced it. But that's also why I have Google turn the fan on and off automatically so I don't have to worry about it. If you want to be extra safe you can always turn the fan off before going to bed and turn it back on to reset the internal run time timer and you shouldn't have any issues. Again, it's never auto turned off on me unless I have it scheduled to do so. I purchased the gold version of the fan and I highly recommend dishing out the extra money because it adds a bit of style to the fan. But other than being aesthetically pleasing, there are no other additional benefits than the color. The fan has many different modes. Sleep mode makes the fan quieter, turbo makes the fan stronger than the normal speed, natural mode will make the speed fluctuate to give you an out door breeze feel... and normal mode is just normal. I've heard people mention that the fan is noisy or makes a rattle sound after a few uses.. im pretty confident they must've been aggressive with the fan or dropped it because I personally haven't experienced any issues like that. One thing I want to mention though, the grill on the front, isn't the entire size of the fans vent. The bottom area is where the motor is and so that portion of the grill has no air flow and its just part of the design. I set my fan on 9, which is pretty powerful and relatively quiet and I just place it next to my bed. It really helps with being able to lower the ac in the summer, especially where I live which is well over 100 degrees all summer long. I also set it on a box so it's tall enough to where none of the fans vents are being blocked by the mattress. But it's not necessary, the fan works fine at a further distance, I just personally enjoy a more cooler sleeping environment and wind blowing in my face. If you are someone who's on the fence of buying this or a dyson fan... I was that person.. but for less than the cost of a dyson fan I bought the dreo tower fan and the air circulator fan for much less than a dyson fan and still saved enough money from the difference to be able to purchase the dreo hepa air purifier... and the dyson fan was weak and was very noisy, sounded like a blow dryer running all night. The only hard debate there is, do you buy the dreo circulator fan or the tower fan? Both do an excellent job and both are quiet. The key difference though is the design and the functionality. Do you want the most quietest fan that gives the right amount of power? Then get the tower fan. If you want extra power for those hotter than normal days and you don't care about the quietness because you are rhe type who can sleep through a hurricane, then get the circulator fan. I am both of those people so I bought both and my electric company is thanking me because my bill has significantly dropped since using both. And one last thing to note, the circulator fan does have a feature in the app where you can guide the fan to a certain direction, you can move it with a virtual d pad to move it left, right, up or down. Which is a super convenient feature when you don't want to constantly get up to manually move the fan, this feature is only available on the circulator fan, the tower fan does not give you that option. And if you don't want to go through your Google settings to set a scheduled automation, the tower fan has the schedules on off feature on the app, but the circulator fan does not have that option! That is why I linked both fans to my Google routines and created a routine to turn them both on and off at a set time. And whatever speed setting and mode you left the fan at, is the setting it will be on when the fans turn back on. It's nice that it saves those settings and you don't have to reconfigure it every time you turn the fans on. I hope this extremely long review helped you decide which is best for you. :)

Perfection.
I was nervous to buy this fan bc it had less than 100 reviews at the time and I live by product reviews. I wanted something very tall that I could set about 10ft away from my bed but still efficiently help my AC unit cool off my room in the hot Louisiana summer. My first thought after assembling (which only required putting the two pieces of the base together and plugging it in) was “oh wow that’s quiet even on the highest speed”. I expected and even wouldn’t have minded it being a little more noisy as we sleep with a sound machine anyway and need some type of white noise. However, my husband seemed to think it was loud so I guess it depends on what you are used to in comparison. The power of this fan is so strong, it is able to reach me on my bed several feet away. I also have been keeping it on during the day to regulate my AC unit a bit better since the thermostat is in the back of the house and some of my rooms get very cold while some stay warm. This has done a good job cooling warmer rooms and keeping my AC unit from having to run so hard all day and night. The remote is very strong and has absolutely no issue reaching my fan while in bed without having to push a button more than once. I like the look of the fan, it is very sleek and fits in small places. Now I have noticed that the “sleep mode” is supposed to make the fan quieter but it changes no sound at all on my fan. This does not matter to me as I said I like the noise but I see how that wouldn’t be ideal for some. Unless I just have a defective fan. That’s the only down side I see and again it’s a non issue for me. All in all, I was again very nervous for this purchase as it’s not a cheap fan. It has blown my expectations out of the water and then some. I’m extremely happy with my purchase and will likely be getting another for the house.

Cream of the crop for tower fans with DC motors from reputable companies.
Update 9/18/25: I had bought a 2nd unit on 9/23/23 5 months after this unit I reviewed. The 2nd unit developed a squealing sound so I took the back cover off and oiled the top and bottom shaft so it could run down into the bearing. Flipped it upside down to do the top. Squealing went away so hopefully I can get another 2 years or longer. Original unit still no noise. Still keeping 5 stars as they’re very good fans. Just an fyi. Original: Only 4 options in this category. 2 from Dreo (30 months warranty), 1 from Lasko (1 year warranty) and 1 from Pelonis (1 year warranty). I have the Pelonis to compare the Dreo too and keeping both. Pelonis cost have as much and does the job. Ditching my older 4 speed Costco's Cascade/Blackstone tower fans for quieter and more energy efficient versions. Even though they cost more in the long run it will save me money. Speed 1 on my old fans noise is about the same as max on these. Lower speeds you will forget to turn off. Oscillation on Dreo makes no noise while on the Pelonis occasional light click at max point. Setup of the Dreo was too easy even app setup. 1st time I haven't had to switch my iPad over to 2.4 ghz wifi. All other devices that are 2.4 ghz wifi make me do that. Integration to Alexa was automatic too. I didn't have to manually add the skill. They definitely put some effort into that. Fan runs great on all speeds. Plenty of controls on the unit and remote and additional in the app. Quality product for sure. I moved my Pelonis upstairs and put the Dreo in its place which is the living room. Nice thing about these dc fans is I don't have to turn my tv up anymore since they're so quiet. People need to stop complaining about lack of power. These fans are powerful enough when space is limited. Get a blade fan like I did for the bedrooms. I got 2 pedestal fans for the bedrooms and they reach over the bed. They're Honeywells. So know what you need before you buy.
