AWESOME AWESOME kit!!!
This is a great kit. Absolutely everything you need to repair your DISA valve. My 330CI was running ok but I decided (after reading horror stories about metal pins getting into the engine and wrecking it) to go ahead and rebuild it. I'm glad I did. My stock pin was ok, but the valve was totally useless, flopping around on the bell crank. The guy who designed this should have been a BMW engineer. It is far, far superior to the stock unit. No chance of the pin getting into the engine. Pretty simple and straight forward install, the directions are excellent and easy to follow. Took me about 2 hours to pull it out, rebuild and replace but I took my time. It's a little pricey for what you get, but there's no better or more affordable way to replace your valve. Wish I could give it ten stars.

Quality, American made product
I have installed these kits on three cars now and can't explain the sense of comfort that I get after I put it all back together. Knowing the fallback of the BMW DISA design and seeing the upgrade offered by these kits, makes them a worthwhile expense. The instructions are clear and the project is straight forward and takes no more than 30, maybe 45 minutes to complete. I have done this on two E39s and one E46 now. Highly recommended!

best fix for your old /failed M54 DISA valve
I ordered this kit as I detected a vacuum leak around the DISA valve in my 2004 X3. I was expecting a failed and non operative DISA valve, turned out my valve was ok but the seal was leaking causing a lean code. Nevertheless, this kit is a great upgrade to any old DISA valve, which will eventually fail. Quality, fit and finish of the parts in this kit is top notch. Pro tip : on the E83 x3 you have to remove the trim piece around the brake booster to pull the DISA valve out, so factor time for this if you are working on an X3.

Nice kit alleviates worries about DISA valve, but the price is questionably high
While troubleshooting codes 171 and 174 I removed this unknown part to have better access for inspection. I'm glad I did. I was able to correct the loose pin holding the flap before it ended up in the engine somewhere. Someone had looked at this part before, apparently dealing with a rattle, since the valve was screwed into a fixed position. With the codes, I was mainly concerned about leaks where it attached to the intake manifold, and now of course, concerned about the pin. Looking up the part, I was introduced to DISA for the first time. I started looking into rebuild kits, and of course didn't want the same style that could lose a pin in the engine. I saw this one, which cost much more, but eliminates the risky pin and secures the valve with a sturdy screw/shaft. There were cheap look-alike versions, but several reviews mentioned fitment problems. I decided to get this one. Installation was easy; the most time consuming portion was cleaning out the old sealer from the groove of the housing so the new o-ring could be installed. Though I felt confident that the DISA was sealed and no longer a risk for dropping parts into the engine, the codes remained. Not only that, but the car didn't seem to drive any better, despite having a functioning flap instead of one fixed into position. Perhaps with a manual transmission its operation is less obvious depending on your clutch and gas pedal style. After purchasing this kit I saw one from SKP that looked very similar for half the price. I have used SKP for other parts and been satisfied. If I saw the SKP kit before buying this one I would have tried it. The DISA is no longer a threat to the engine, but what fixed the codes? After replacing the two snorkel halves and fixing an obvious leak or two, I used a smoke machine to find the harder ones. I found the hose leading to the exhaust flap (BMW 330i) was deteriorated, the hose connection to the sucking jet pump (yes, that is the correct name) was leaking, the other end of this hose at the bottom of the intake manifold was leaking (VERY difficult to see, used a snake camera), and a bad hose next to the sucking jet pump supply hose. After those repairs and still getting the codes, I replaced the mass air flow sensor since I really thought the vacuum leaks were fixed. That finally did it, but I think the snorkel and the other leak repairs were needed in order for the new MAF to work.

Machined to perfection
Good stuff. Easy install. Too bad my engine was junk anyways. Looks good though!

Great Product, great seller, worth every penny!
Worked great, fit/finish was second to none. I have used a cheaper auto parts store repair kit, it was GARBAGE! Save your time and money and use the G.A.S. kit. Very simple to do, required very little mechanical skill, tools. Follow the directions on their website, and the testing procedures to test your vacuum pot to insure it isn't bad along with your flap. You're good to go! Enjoy your upgraded DISA that will not ever need flap servicing! Take notes BMW...

The best kit out there
Plenty of other kits out there and with similar pricing but G.A.S. instructions are super clear and the product is of quality and of good value. Comes with literally everything you need! I will say, I personally recommend removing the oem gasket before cleaning your DISA valve since lot's of little pieces of the gasket will get everywhere when removing it. So id remove then clean.

This how BMW should have done it in the first place,
Using OEM DISA valve, it assembled easily, fit right, and fixed all the drivability issues that indicates a broken DISA. Good stuff!
