I got the XXL which is a bit larger then I expected. I'm a truck driver and I need a rugged well built bag to use. The seams are tight and the zippers are well made. It's a great leather bag that will last for years. It's a bit expensive but you will never go back to the cheaper ones.

I love this bag! I've become a super-fan of Berliner bags and this was my 5th!!! I have a shopper, a backpack, the smaller duffel, the toiletries bag and a pencil case. I really love them all. They are so well-made! This bag was the perfect size for me for a 4-day weekend. It fit all of my clothes for four days, which I packed into packing cubes, my Berliner toiletry bag, blow-dryer, flat iron and two extra pairs of shoes. I actually packed fewer bags than my husband! It's rather heavy when it's full because you can pack so much stuff into it, and a little too big for a carry-on in an overhead compartment, so I don't know that I'd take it on an airplane unless it wasn't completely full. It's still new so it's still rather stiff, but it will soften up with time and use. This is a great all-leather bag for the price!

As per pics, my brown “New York” XXL arrived loose in a box without any protective wrap and white mold(?) on side, so I suspect I received a return - BUT because it aired out in the warehouse, great news is I don’t notice any odor or wrinkles as other reviews complained. Bleach water has not removed it. Will try saddle soap next.[+] Seems well made = stitching, leather, hardware, etc; zipper successfully held through my overstuffing and the airline requiring me to curb check after not fitting overhead; interior feels soft. Came with a nice storage/shoe bag, catalogue, ID tag, and two sets of extra snap rivets. Size was accurate. No color transfer to contents.[~] I love the simplicity of few internal pockets bc I prefer using separate organizers, but you may not. Shoulder strap seems *comically* long. XXL is too large for a carry on.[-] Shoulder strap’s comfort pad can’t slide over adjustment ring, thus not usable once adjusted. While I dislike zipper “dogear” aesthetics (like Berliner’s “Munchen”) - facepalm - I get it now - until the leather is softer, this zipper’s length is slightly cumbersome to retrieve contents.

Bought this for my son on his 25th birthday and my husband loved it so much I was told to order another one for him!

This is my second purchase from Berliner Bags. The first was the Utrecht XL Bookbag, which I took with me on a trip to North Africa for a month--it proved durable, well designed, comfortable to use and absolutly stylish. I received many compliments on it! So pleased was I with this purchase, that I bought the "New York" Vintage Leather Duffle Bag. This too was an outstanding value, as I have used it already on several short trips in America, and it carried everything I packed into it. The quality of the leather on both bags is outstanding. Soft and strong, and the connections between the leather pieces is flawless. I will certainly purchase from Berliner bags again.

I'm a frequent traveler, and I wanted a large leather overnight bag that would accommodate everything I need for being away several days at a time. I chose the Berliner New York Leather Duffle Bag because it's roomy with a lot of interior features that enable me pack everything needed without having to take another piece of luggage. The leather used for it is of high quality and the outstanding craftmanship is certainly obvious.
