Great for Ancestry
As Ancestry is a big interest of mine, i got this on a special offer. While the results differ in parts to the one i did with Ancestry, i was more intersted in the health aspect with this one. While it never flagged anything serious, it failed to flag other problems that i did know of? While it is not meant to diagnose, and i knew of my problems prior, i was curious to see how ‘accurate’ this could be? Having studied my results, the website, the app, the ‘health probabilities’ are derived by the information given by willing participants like me, and then whatever haplogroup your DNA belongs to, it is then compared to others in the same haplogroup - it is basically worked out on statistics to the information they receive from the DNA samples they collect. It is still a very interesting insight, but not life changing. For the Ancestry side to it, i prefer the Ancestry DNA kit, as the results i got from that were more positive in my linking to other DNA matched relatives. The results from this kit do tell me of ‘relatives’, a few are also on my Ancestry DNA lists as well, so there is certainly an accuracy there, but their half hearted attempt at showing how you are linked with these people is just not clear enough for me? Having been well experienced with the Ancestry one, i am somewhat disappointed in this kit in comparison.

Found out I am a little Spanish
This won’t interest anyone but myself. I thought I was half Irish and the other half a mix of Eastern Europe and French. It turns out I’m 66% Irish. I have 0% French but 7% Spanish and or Portugal. My father doesn’t show up as a DNA relative. So this is fascinating to me if nothing else.

Seems good—-but super slow process
I bought this for myself and one for my husband. I had been worried about health mutations as we both have complicated family medical histories. I was waiting to to have an indication of what we both potentially have markers for and to proactively make lifestyle changes or seek further screening etc. I had held off reviewing but it has been nearly one month and we are not even to the first stage of testing….samples still in transit since the 28th of March. So I have removed one star as this process is really too long! Apart from the processing time, the kit itself was easy to use and easy to register with their app. Sample collection is simple and the container is pretty ingenious. Posting it off to them in a prepaid shipping box is also simple. I hope I get results soon. It really seems like it takes so long. I am not sure of other companies can do this faster. My only advice is to compare the time it takes for results if you need it faster.

I bought it again!
I’ve always wondered about my ancestry when I saw this product on amazon I didn’t hesitate getting it for my partner and myself. It arrived on time and the test itself takes about a month if not less! Its a great product to have if you want to know more about your origins and genetics predispositions.

Very disappointed
I thought the results would be specific to me as an individual not my great ancestors, it’s all written as a “likely” to get certain conditions and the percentage of that likelihood. I was very interested in the BRAC1 and 2 results, told that in the 3 variants out of over 1000 that I done have a likelihood, that’s reassuring that I probably might have one of the 997 variants. The family tree is very vague, I’m “probably “ related to this person as either a 3rd or 5th cousin……. probably? Not the exciting reports I thought I’d get, not bothered looking at it since the day I got the results, waste of £170 for me.
