Good Gift
Bought this for my Trainer as a gag gift, but it's actually not bad!Sometime I forget that the "Dummies" books are a great place to cover the fundamentals of a topic. He's just starting his business, so those sections in particular seemed to have some good advice for a new business owner.

Great starter information for new personal trainers.
This book is great for anybody starting out as a personal trainer. It breaks down the process of becoming a personal trainer and what it takes. As well as information on what you will encounter on a day to day basis, what to expect and making sure your prepared for any common situation that you may experience as a new personal trainer. This book also has great business advice if you want to start your own gym and even has personal stories from the authors about their experiences on being a personal trainer.

some basic info
Good starting place for information. Will take some doing to suss out the relevant information from the useless. It will provide some food for thought. It is just one of those things that are really subjective when considering getting a business going in this field. I would say if you read this, then want to continue to pursue this career track, then add on to your knowledge and maybe wander over to your local small business association. Network with people who are already in the field and can mentor you. Some of what is in this book will fit with what you are looking for, and some of it may very well not. I really just consider it an interesting read. Not my favorite Dummies book, but I think it has to do more with the career path itself.

good book
I'm a complete newbie, in classes to become a personal trainer right now. So perhaps my opinion doesn't count for much, however I think this is a good all-around book for other newbies. Of course, there isn't much detailed info about exercise, programming, etc. there isn't room for that. If you want an all-around primer on how to get started and how to run your business, this is a good book.

Fantastic
I had this book on my wish list for nearly a year, then decided I would just get it.....best decision I've made in a long time, the book takes you through everything you could ever want to know about becoming a personal trainer from making the an informed decision on weather it is the right move for you to training your first client and from hiring to firing staff after you have establised your business. Well worth it!!!!
