Works on your body as well...
I was told I had psoriasis on my leg. LOL. I was given clobetasol and calcipotrene for it. After six months, no change. At. All. I knew it wasn't psoriasis, but I'm not a doctor, so I did what he told me to do. After doing a ton of research and looking at thousands of photos, I realized it was a fungal issue. (There was one photo that looked like I had taken a picture of my own leg)! So I started trying everything over the counter to deal with it. I decided to go with this option first because it is unscented and not expensive. Pyrithione zinc is used for dandruff, but also can be effective for fungal infections and folliculitis. Well, long story short, it is working albeit slowly. The lesions on my leg are changing for the better. They are getting smaller and there is much less irritation within the hair follicles. I use this before bathing. I slather is on all of the areas and then let it sit for five minutes, then I hop in the shower and wash it off. I follow up with urea and then Vaseline while my skin is still moist. I am hoping it will be a lot better after several more weeks. I will start using it every day once I determine that it won't irritate the area.I was gonna try Nizoral, but the fragrance is a deal breaker for me. I wish I could find an unscented version because ketoconazole works quite well on fungal infections. And yes, I tried the pads for dogs and cats, but the fragrance and methylisothiazolinone broke me out and I had to return the item.I am going to add in some benzoyl peroxide for good measure because most fungal infections don't become resistant to benzoyl peroxide. I purchased that item from Paula's Choice btw. Her benzoyl peroxide formulation is pretty great.I didn't use this on my scalp. Yet. But it seems like it wouldn't dry out your scalp or cause issues if used as directed. You'll need a moisturizing conditioner after using this on your hair for sure. And it also might cause fading if you dye your hair.

Not moisturizing in the slightest, but WOW the relief on my scalp!!
So... I was desperate.Just fyi, I follow the curly girl method and it was working great up until winter and dryness came around.Since winter rolled around, my scalp has been EXTREMELY ITCHY to no avail. I could use as much tea tree oil in my conditioner or even use the tea tree conditioner from Trader Joe's, nothing. I would cowash my hair and come out the shower, not even 5 mins later my scalp was itchy. I couldn't understand why.I tried a bunch of apple cider vinegar cleanses and always used my scalp scrubber. Nope. Nothing. Forever itchy.I joined this other curly girl group that approves low-poo products and someone had recommended this product. Granted, it's a bit pricey for a small bottle but a little DEFINITELY goes a long way.Ever since using it, the amount of itching has probably went down to about 5% of what it used to feel like! Insane, truly. This has been a miracle for my scalp!!!The only thing is that this is meant only for your SCALP not the length of your hair too. So your hair will be DRY and slick feeling even when wet. Hurts for it to feel like that, but I use the Papaya deep conditioner in the jar from Garnier when I'm about to jump out the shower, put a whole bunch in my hair and clip my hair up, rinse off any of the papaya conditioner that might have got on me, and jump out and put my hair in a tshirt to help soak the excess water. I definitely think that has saved my hair from the dryness of the shampoo.Another thing I would suggest is before you jump in the shower to wash your hair, while your hair is dry, slather on some other conditioner you have onto the length of your hair. Trust me. When you go to wet your scalp and massage and scrub in the shampoo, the rest of your hair won't be dried out immediately from the shampoo because of the conditioner barrier you just applied! Not to mention you cowash the rest of your hair at the same time, that's a 2 for 1!So if you are on the fence like I was, just do it. Your scalp will honestly thank you.
