Not the best quality in the world but for the occasional user it’s price makes value for money.

I’ve used this time and time again, even if it is just to clear the thread very very useful

OK for light weight re cutting of threads but not anything to major

I ordered this tap and die set for a simple job, to repair the threads in a bed head that had been cross threaded. I also thought it would be handy to have in the shed for other future jobs. After using the m8 tap to clean out the threads in the bed frame I was happy with the results, onto the bolt and to run the m8 die down it. Well, as soon as I started it seemed far too tight and required excessive force to turn even a 1/4 turn, so I went to my workshop and got several m8 bolts to check the die size. I ran it down one bolt and found it removed far too much material and a m8 nut actually just slipped straight down it with no turning required. After this I checked all the other taps and dies on their respective sized nuts and bolts and all were fine, so it is probably just a poorly manufactured die. We will see once I return the set and get a new one, but with this been one of the cheapest sets available, I guess you get what you pay for.
