Pretty good.
I've been using this fan during the recent heatwave, and overall, it's been a pretty good buy.It has three speed settings, which is great because I can adjust it depending on how hot it is. The airflow is strong enough to make a difference, especially on the highest setting. That said, it is a bit noisy — not broken or anything, just the sound of strong airflow, which might bother some people if you're looking for something whisper-quiet. Personally, I don’t mind the sound much; it kind of blends in like white noise after a while. The fan is portable enough to move from room to room, but it's not exactly feather-light — it has a decent bit of weight to it, which I actually like because it feels sturdy and doesn’t tip over easily.Overall, I would say it’s great, it gets the job done and has been a lifesaver in this heat.☀️⛅If you're okay with a little noise and want something that feels solid, it's a good pick.

Good quality fan for the price
Good quality fan, quick and easy to assemble, decent noise level, no perceivable whine or rattle even on max speed, airflow is quite good so it provides decent cooling. Overall, at £20 I think it’s a very good fan for the price.

Does the job, but louder than the job requires
I bought this fan because the title promised “quiet operation.” Either the marketing team has never heard of silence, or they’ve been hanging out at airports, because when I turned it on, it sounded like a jet engine warming up.On the plus side, the airflow is fantastic - if I close my eyes, I can almost believe I’m standing on the runway at Heathrow. To be fair, it’s decent quality for the price. Solid build, good performance and hasn't taken flight just yet.If you want a decent fan that doubles as a white noise machine set to “Category 5 Hurricane,” this is the one for you.

V. Strong fan power. Well-made.
Build quality:Works excellently. I would recommend and would definitely buy again. It's is a very strong fan that can instantly cool down a room. Brilliant for extreme temperatures. It is also very sturdy; I have knocked over the item several times and it didn't affect the function of the fan or caused it to dent for snap!Fan power:Very strong. If you are only using it for a bedside, it might be too strong. However to cool down a room, it works exceptionally. Why did you choose this product over others?:

Assembly a bit awkward, plus missing parts for one of two fans bought
I bought two of these during the heatwave. One was missing the little nut and bolt used to hold the cage pieces together at the bottom (the bolt can be seen at the bottom of the fan in product photos) so I had to improvise a bit to be sure it would stay together. With the day of 40+ degree temperatures imminent, returns weren't an option. I say "bolt" rather than "screw" because there's no threads in the hole in the cage for the bolt to tighten into - only in the nut. The other fan was complete. Although the rest of the assembly is easy enough, putting this nut and bolt in place (when you have them) is pretty awkward. First, who just happens to have a spanner small enough for this? Second, there's not enough space behind the cage to get my adult-sized but not that huge hands in place to secure that nut and bolt, so using one hand to hold the fan and keep the two cage-pieces aligned together, one hand to hold the nut and, errr, one hand to turn the bolt gets pretty tricky. Once assembled, on setting one the fans seem fine - not especially quiet, but not especially noisy either, and they moved enough air to stop me spontaneously combusting. Setting two was much more noisy for not much extra benefit so I didn't use it. With or without the nut and bolt, if you have particular reasons to worry about safety, IMO the cage doesn't lock shut securely enough, but as long as toddlers can't get to it it's probably fine. Finally, the oscillation on one of the fans was particularly jerky, seeming to lock in place for a while then suddenly ping a significant distance every cycle, but just because I noticed didn't mean I cared. Nothing I assembled is catching. I wouldn't be surprised if the missing nut and bolt are somewhere in the oscillation works, though if so, I couldn't dislodge them. Conclusion - both fans work OK despite one missing its cage nut and bolt, no real regrets, but I'd have probably chosen differently if I'd known.

Quiet and peaceful
I purchased this fan based on the manufacturer Russell Hobs as I have a number of their product, all reliable. The price was very reasonable and the equipment performed better than expected. What really sold me was that this machine is so quiet and in no way intrudes in my day to day living.

Great for £17. Good cooling effect overall.
The fan was of decent quality, for £17 i cant complain too much. But its too loud and also there are only two settings which are too strong if the fan is close to your face (i keep it on a desk). So it should have a setting below the first for a slower quieter gentler breeze. The breeze it produces on its lowest setting is just too strong to keep on a desk near your face. Its also quite loud. But for £17, its a decent buy with a strong cooling effect and a side to side oscillation built in.EDIT: The fan is essential for hot weather, i relied on it heavily to keep me cool during a long heatwave. For £17 its a must buy due to great quality and performance. It is too loud though. I upgraged the rating to 4 stars due to the great price, but if it was over £18 i would keep it a 3 stars.
