Computer Vision: It starts with a usable and intuitive 3D interface
You can't just "jump into" the pool of 3D systems without having a lot of help. This book is about the most comprehensive reference book I've found on developing effective, trending and usable 3D interfaces out there. It's one of the most valuable books in my AR / VR / MR collection. It's technical and other parts are just fun to read. It's a sneak peak of where our world is going to be in 3 more years.Trust Me: You will have a hard time distinguishing computer vision from reality by 2020. The merging of 3D interfaces with everything we own that is plugged into a wall or connected wirelessly to the Internet -- the 3D interface will be woven into every touch screen from your iPhone and Android smartphones, to your refrigerators, to your ATM and even the Google Toasters that will be sold everywhere by this Christmas. 3D is the next, bright new shiny thing that will evolve quickly.

Great overview of how 3D computer human interfaces can be made
2D graphics and 2D graphical user interfaces have many general and platform specific reference books and web sites. This book is an overview of 3D human computer interaction, how to present controls and interfaces to the human user and how in turn people can poke, twist, push, and otherwise manipulate the elements within a 3D graphical system. There are too many different possibilities for this book to go into great detail, but it provides an excellent overview of what's available, what's been tried, and where to find out more.
