Primary Phonics - Storybooks 3 Starter Set

This series is based on incremental learning and reviews previous lessons within the new lesson. Builds great confidence. My granddaughter was on set 3 when she was 4 years old. Her kindergarten teacher said she has never had a kindergartener who has her level of reading and writing skills. Start with the basics in letter recognition and short vowels sounds then introduce this series at the series first level and your kinder will have a joy of reading.

These books are great for kids learning to read. They use them in my sons kindergarten class and now his younger sister is reading before she even starts school.

Three of my four kids (the last is still too young for them) has learned to read using these books and the accompanying workbooks. It is a great set. It is very straightforward with how it presents sequentially more difficult words and sentence structure. The illustrations are cute and the story lines pleasant and simple. There is nothing to distract the new reader from concentrating on the task of reading.

In 30 years of using this system to help children learn to read I have never found another as effective as this one. Not even close. These EPS readers and workbooks introduce phonics concepts in graduated steps. The progression is logical and truly consistent with plenty of practice. This third set of readers and the workbook that goes with it introduce blends and consonant digraphs. That allows for a more creative vocabulary than the first two sets of readers use and the children really enjoy the stories.

Very good for explicitly teaching children with reading difficulties the nuts and bolts of consonants and vowels, one step at a time.

I’m a teacher and a mother of a young child. This is exactly what I was looking for as far as decodable readers go. I have sets 1-3!

Books are sequential, based on skill development. These books have short & long vowels and beginning blends. I am a reading specialist & use these books for dyslexic students.

Love love love this booksMy son is able to read on his own and he is recognizing more sight words and is able to decode most of the words. And I also love that they use rhyming words in the stories and use those as clues to help him.
