They say 8" shovels, but how big is just the scoop part, not including the handle?

The handle is 3”. The scoop itself is 5” long, 3 1/8” wide & about 2” in depth. Very sturdy. My grandson uses them for sand at the bench, dirt for his trucks … I even have one to scoop out homemade laundry powder detergent from a bucket into a jar.
