Superb!
This is a faultless lens. Solidly built, great colour reproduction and wonderfully sharp. In fact, it’s even sharper that my 300mm prime lens.Add to that instantaneous autofocus and lightweight portability and you have perfection. Love it!

This is a game changer for me!
I wasn't sure about buying this lens as I already have the 40-150mm F/2.8 pro and the 40-150mm F/4-5.6 but I was wrong! Not only is it small and light (barely noticeable change from the F/4-5.6) but it is much sharper than both my copies of the F/2.8 pro! It is great for near macro (flowers, etc.) and brings out fantastic smooth bokeh. The twist-to-extend operation feels quite natural to me. This lens is all what Micro 4/3 should be: small, light with fantastic optics.

A great little lens lightweight and good quality
I use this lens more than any other. I use it for insects mostly as I can stand back and take a shot without disturbing the insect going about its business and it takes quite a good quality photo as long as there is light on the subject. As i use this as a field camera sometimes i have to use the internal flash in darker conditions or an extra light source as the lens starts from f4 aperture. I have taken off a star rating as the lock system on the lens is pretty hard to get used to and also the aperture of f4 would like to see a lower aperture lens of this size, weight and quality in the future. The internal zoom was strange to get used to at first but i see it as a good thing now I am used to it. A straightforward lens overall which is of good quality construction and picture quality

Absolutely superb and versatile lens
Bought this lens to use with my OM5 and it never disappoints. Superb autofocus and very versatile telephoto lens. Hand held use is fantastic and no need for a tripod even though it’s a fairly large lens when extended. Simply superb.

High quality lens in a perfect form
This lens is very fiiting for the latest incarnation of the M.Zuiko PRO range of excellent quality, but in a compact size appropriate for the M4/3 format.Very much a pro lens in its specification and actual performance. Would make an ideal partner for the M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-45mm f/4 PRO.One slight niggle - an annoying little button arrangement on the lens hood is quite unnesseccary, and very fiddly in use!

Wonderful lens!
What a wonderful lense. Firstly the thing I do not like about it is the lense thingy protects your photos from having excess light coming into view, it's a bit difficult to unscrew😮 the auto focus is excellent, picture quality is superb, great stabilization and this is on a Panasonic Lumix GX80 body. I am now going to use this set-up as my take out camera instead of my heavy Nikon D750.The price was excellent compared to some stores so value for money is fantastic. Buy it and be amazed 😍👍🏼After using the lense for a while now I can say that the reason for my difficulty in removing the lens hood is that it has a little release button on it, you press this button and it comes off lol, stupid me!.I still think it is a fantastic lens 😍

Best Compact Zoom
I have the expensive big brother to this lens, the Olympus 40-150mm f2.8. It's fantastic and sets a high bar for performance and build quality. I also have the cheap but cheerful little brother, the Olympus 40-150 f4-5.6 R and it is the best zoom you can get for ~$100. This lens fits in the middle with a compact design, excellent IQ (close to its big brother), and weather sealing (something the little brother doesn't have). I love the twist action to extend the lens from its travel configuration. From then on its all internal focusing and zooming. Just fantastic. Some reviewers hate the fact that you need to extend the lens to use it, but I think it is genius. I have no problem extending this lens when I start using it. I pair this lens with an E-M5ii and the Oly 12-45mm f4 in a compact travel kit. It's big and little brothers get paired with an OM-1 and E-PL9 respectively. You can't go wrong with this lens. OMDS/Olympus made a winner here that aligns with the compact, light-weight, rugged, and quality ethos of its MFT ecosystem.
