This is my personal EDC knife. Smooth opening, and exceptionally sharp right out of the box. Slices nicely, and has excellent edge retention. Absolutely beautiful Damascus pattern in the steel. I really love the push-button locking system. It allows me to draw the blade very quickly, but also safely. After carrying this knife all day long, every single day, since I originally bought it many months ago, I am actually thoroughly impressed. I use it around 30 times per week to cut/slice all sorts of various materials. Everything from heavy packing straps (the steel wire re-enforced kind that you might find on very large, heavy packages 100+ lbs), to packing tape from opening simple packages, or even just slicing an apple to eat for lunch at work. It simply cuts beautifully, and feels just as good while doing so. I have tested this knife on several other foods as well (steak, chicken, peaches, pears, plums, salad tomato's etc...) It slices amazingly well all the way around. Perfectly capable of regularly producing legitimately "paper thin" slices (with a steady, skilled hand) right out of the box. I bought a second one simply to have a backup, in the rare case that I lose the original. That is how much I love this knife. It has served me very well, has made many hundreds of cuts/slices for me already, even after only a few months, and I absolutely trust it to continue doing its job for the very long term future, with very basic care, and simple edge maintenance.

I personally think this is the best Elementum of them all. The button lock on this particular model is one of the best that's come out of Civivi. I own over 15 Civivi's many of them button locks and none of them perform like this model. It's one of my only gripes with Civivi. Some of their models have a bit of button stick...oh and their stupid pocket clips. The BL version is incredible across the board, excellent ergos, hollow grind, buttery smooth, super fidgetability, great steel, sits narrow in the pocket, it's very light in weight and well manufactured. I do recommend upgrading to their Ti pocket clips but with that, you will lose the deep carry aspect. I also own the Damascus and carbon fleck version of this model and it's even better, smoother, and capable of a sharper edge. Also looks great for formal carry. This is the largest of the Elementum line sans the fixed blade. You will not notice that at all though. For the price it's almost impossible to beat. I highly recommend this version and this company.

I really liked this knife. The Damascus blade is great darked out color, the carbon handle is light and nice, It's excellent. And there's a lanyard hole recess as well. The only problem is there's no flipper to open it.... And as much as I like the button lock, you need to be able to open it with your finger without having to flick your wrist. Wish they made the same pattern in the Elementum 2, with a finger rear flipper tab

Very nice quality. Bought for my boyfriend, he said it is nice and light weight and the blade is very sharp. The clip also nicely secures in his pockets.
