Kind of expensive for cardboard?

They're very reasonably priced.

How durable are these, considering they're just made of cardboard? Don't they tear up pretty quickly?

I have 2 cats and the board is holding up good, just as the ones you get at other stores. I suggest when you flip the board that you get off as much loose cardboard as you can to save a mess on the floor. As of now I haven't had to flip it over. It is almost twice the size as the smaller one. My cat like to use it as a pillow. I highly recommend this scratching board, I give it a 5

Is this ok for rabbits?

I don't see why not. Theses are just cardboard. If rabbits dig around in paper and such, these would be ok. I am not a rabbit expert, but doing a bit of research, I don't see why not. My cats love these to pieces! Hope I helped.
