A must-have for Delta Blues!
I’ve been an assiduous student of Robert Johnson for the last 18 months, and I started playing with a glass slide on an acoustic sigma guitar. I bought it cheap, but it had a great sound. After a full year of tutelage under Robert Johnson’s songs, and very little external guidance to go on as regards great technique for Delta blues, particularly in regards to the slide element, I happened to find some guidance that said the proper set up for your guitar is going to be 1.high action, 2. A metal slide, and 3. medium weight guitar strings. That’s gonna give you the best combination of factors to excel at Delta blues the way the true Delta blues players played. As it turns out, all the greats including Robert Johnson used metal slides. Imagine my surprise, since I’ve been using a glass slide for the last year. Anyway, I did three simultaneous upgrades to my 1980 sigma acoustic guitar. 1. New, medium weight, Martin strings (after all, sigma is an imprint of Martin) 2. this tapered, brass, pinky slide, and 3. real bone nut and saddle replacements, making sure not to decrease any of the original height of both the bone nut and the bone saddle to make sure I have high action. After making the adjustments to the saddle, and restringing the guitar, I’m absolutely stunned with the increased quality of sound coming out of my guitar. The combination of high action, and medium weight strings, with a heavy brass slide, means that the slide glides over the strings, and just about with its own weight holds the strings down enough to intone the right note without even touching the metal frets. This allows the guitarist to get a beautiful glissando out of the slide without hammering down on top of the frets. As regards this particular pinky slide, I have large hands and relatively thick fingers, and this pinky slide fits me perfectly.

Good fit
Good quality slide with a slightly tapered inside so it fits snug on most peoples fingers

Enjoyable Slide
It is a bit pricey, but in a year will you remember what you paid? As well, it is heavy and takes a bit of time to get used to when you're a beginner or coming from a glass or ceramic slide. It is forgiving because of its weight on the strings, but will knock the hell out of the frets on the high strings if you've tilted it too far, as all slides will, but the weight makes the banging much more pronounced :) So far I haven't seen any damage to my frets or fretboard though, just my ego. I like that it's shorter in length at 2 ¼" (60mm) versus what seems to be a more common length of 2¾" (70mm). The interior is tapered, which works well for me. The smaller diameter side also works ok for my pinky when I choose to use the slide that way, but it also takes time to get used to the weight (My pinky needs to do push ups I guess.) I have several glass and porcelain slides and this one so far is by far my new favorite, but "favorite" is always subjective and your mileage may vary. Approximate dimensions are, Len: 2¼" (60mm) x 1" (25mm) Diameter. Large opening is ⅞" (22mm) and tapers down to ¾" (19mm) diameter. The taper runs about 1⅞" (48mm) up the length and then has a flat bore for the remaining length. It weighs in at 3.8 oz (107g) Even if this wouldn't be your daily slide, it is certainly worthy of a place in your slide collection. Hope this helps.

Nice slide but like all others needs sizing
High quality and sounds great but you might have to switch fingers depending on which one you use! I

Wonderful slide
A little on the heavy side but it's just what I expected from a brass slide. I also have 2 thick amber glass Rock Slides. Each one, brass and glass, has a different tone when used. I got this brass slide to use primarily with my Martin 000-17, which I have setup for Blues, and I may order another one to put in the case of my 000-18, along with the amber Rock Slide.

Perfect!
This was instantly my favorite slide to date! I didn't even realize it was tapered until I received it, which was a really nice surprise. Because of the tapering, it fits on every finger. Also due to tapering, it doesn't get stuck on your finger! It's also a bit thick on the smaller end hole, which gives it a very rich tone. Easily the best slide I've ever owned.

Great slide for acoustic and resonator
I have more slides than I can easily count. After trying just about everything and settling on the hard to find brass slide by Latch Lake, a premium slide, I pre-ordered this on a whim. Man, I could not have been more surprised. This is an incredible value, a first rate slide for a great price. It actually surpasses my previous slide in tone and articulation, didn't think that was possible. The size is perfect for me, it spans the width of a resonator neck without any excess, the flat surface is wonderful, there has been a movement towards curved sides on brass slides and though I can use them, it always seemed odd and inefficient to me. With a flat surface, full chords in open tunings are a breeze, single note lines ring out true and sweet. I play acoustic resonator guitar for slide mostly, not sure how this would be on electric, but for acoustic blues, this baby rocks.

It works for me.
This slide runs on the pricey side. I like how Rich Robinson sounds. He is also well know from the Black Crowes. So, I was a little worried that I would spending a pricey amount of money on a piece of junk that just had RIch's name on it. Was glad that this is not the case. Most importantly, I wanna say that just because I like this slide, that don't mean you will. It's different for everybody and you unfortunately have to find out what works for you. The tapered design fit's my finger well and it is a heavy slide. I've found that heavy slides work for me. I prefer the porcelain slides, but I am still going to use this one too.
