I was surprised how close this soup base tasted compared to the restaurant version. It was really well made, combined with the seasoning that comes in the filter bags, produced almost an authentic Vietnamese soup base. Although they only provided 2 seasoning filter bags in the jar, you can always purchase them separately. Overall a great product.

You will want to order filters for looseleaf tea along with this. Rip the spice bags it comes with and put all into a plastic bag.Then when you want to make a bowl, add some of the soup base to a pot with water, add some of the spice mixture into one of the small tea bags and knot it. Simmer with bag for 15 minutes, toss bag, then add some grated ginger or dried powdered ginger. I find it usually needs some brown sugar, or other sugar to sweeten the broth.Perfect bowl every time, tastes 90% close to a good restaurant.

i thought this was a instant thing - where you just put the flavoring with water and get pho. this is not that. this has some herb packets that you add but not enough for every serving. I guess this is for like huge pots that will allow you to feed pho to 20 people or so. because the spices are not enough, you end up trying to reuse it and you end up with less tasty soup. trying to make it without the spices and/or meat ends up with very nasty water. other people left great reviews and so i had bought it but it is not what i was expecting. this is why i gave it four stars. to be honest, for the amount i used and the flavors i got out of it, it should be like 1-2 stars - but that's probably because i was using it as a quick add solution rather than for a comprehensive pho cookout.

My hubby and I live in a rural area and it’s hard to source ingredients to make pho from scratch. So I tried this brand of pho seasoning and it’s absolutely delicious and emulates an authentic bowl of pho pretty darn well.I like to boil water, add 3-4 table spoons of this beef pho seasoning to the water, along with the seasoning package. I’ll also add a touch of salt, fish sauce, and a little bit of brown sugar to amp up the broth. And top it off with our favorite rice noodles and toppings! We like it so much that I got the 3 pound container of it.

I originally bought this 5 years ago and have finally finished it (it stayed good all this time.) It is a large container, but we have been eating pho' a lot more lately. I bought this again because it is so easy to make and really delicious. Don't worry about the instructions; just add the bullion to hot water until you have the desired flavor. If it is too strong, add more water. If too weak, add more bullion. Super easy. We buy thinly sliced beef from the deli and fresh vegetables to make the perfect soup. Add your desired noodles and you are good to go.

been looking for a good soup base to make phō at home and i’ve seen this specific one all over social media so i decided to try, we haven’t used meat like the directions said because we need the right meat but we’ve gone through the whole thing so far and its absolutely amazing. but the type of noodles affect the taste heavily and the way they’re cooked. i find that mung bean noodles are best!

Product is absolutely amazing. Lived in Seattle for a large majority of my life. And i've tried most of the instant pho Products sold in most of the asian grocery stores, This one is hands down the best. For all the people who are complaining about the spice packet. The trick is to just empty both packages into a tupperware container and get yourself one of those reusable metal strainers that they use for single cups of tea. One teaspoon into the tea ball And now you're ready for single use.
