Terrible junk, parts won't fit/work, door won't flip well and won't reset
I can hardly believe how bad this is, given the simple idea. Good idea, terrible execution and manufacturing. The plastic parts will not fit together, and the main plastic "lid" part is so flimsy it constantly bends when trying to deal with it, and it can hardly hold up the "flip doors." The "tunnel" top parts absolutely will not snap together and those parts will not snap onto the "lid." There are little plastic tabs and holes into which the tabs should go to assemble, but it won't work: either the tab won't line up, won't fit in the hole, and/or won't stay in the hole (NOTHING "snaps" into place)... The lid doesn't want to snap onto a bucket, either. If I just place it on top of the bucket, it'll fall/get knocked off.The worst thing is that the flip doors will hardly pivot at all--the pivot attachments just don't want to spin in their holes. The flip doors came already assembled into the lid, so I'm reluctant to try to remove the doors to attempt improvement on the pivot--afraid it'll all just break. If I place something heavy enough to get the door to pivot (or just push down with my hand), it won't "reset" itself--if the door flips down, it won't pop back up. So, I don't see how this could work to catch rodents even if I could get all the parts to assemble. I haven't tried to catch any rodents with this because I can't get it to fit together (and hold)!I bought another very similar product that has one flip door instead of two; I thought I'd try this slightly different design as well, just-in-case. The other product was less expensive and didn't have all these problems. (Don't get me wrong--it's cheap plastic junk, too, but it seems to work better, and the parts all fit together.) I just put that one outside to give it a try. This one needs to be returned.

DIDNT CATCH THE MOUSE!
WE JUST MOVED INTO A NEW PLACE AND AFTER A YEAR FOUND SOME MICE DROPPINGS IN THE KITCHEN AREA. I TRIED THE STICKY TRAPS ( I KNOW KINDA INHUMANE BUT I WAS DESPERATE) DECON TRAPS, OLD FASHIONED BAIT AND SET TRAPS, POISON PELLETS BUT ONLY FOR A FEW DAYS BECAUSE AN EXTERMINATOR TOLD ME THEY CAN RUN OUTSIDE AFTER EATING AND IF YOUR CAT INJEST IT, IT CAN KILL THEM. I WAS HAVING TO WIPE DOWN EVERYTHING WITH BLEACH EVERY MORNING -I DIDNT KNOW MICE COULD BE SO DANG SMART!! I EVEN LET OUR 2 CATS IN TO SPEND THE NIGHT - NOTHING!! I ORDERED THIS BUCKET TRAP AND IT SOUNDED LIKE THE PERFECT SOLUTION AND I COULDN'T WAIT TO CATCH THE MICE. AFTER A WEEK ( USED PEANUT BUTTER AND BACON AND A CRACKER FOR BAIT- NOT ALL AT THE SAME TIME) ONLY TO SEE AN EMPTY BUCKET. FINALLY YESTERDAY, WITH ALL THESE CONTRAPTIONS, IT WAS THE OLD FASHION BAIT & SET PLASTIC TRAP THAT GOT THAT SUCKER!! BY THE WAY, THE BUCKET WAS ABOUT 2 FEET FROM THE TRAP. I'M GOING TO USE THE BUCKET IN OUR BARN TO SEE IF IT WORKS BUT IT WASN'T THE SOLUTION FOR THE WORLDS SMARTEST MOUSE I KILLED! LOL

Bucket vs metal trap
OK I know those rodents have gotten smarter or more cautious. My husband set up one of those 'Have -a-heart metal traps'. Let's just say he scored 4 and I got zero. Hmmmm....he used peanut butter, I used pieces of meat, peanuts. Maybe the rodents don't like climbing such a long stairway. I even dabbed peanut butter on the ladder leading up to the trap. Sorry, my trap didn't impress me.

Works! Pays for itself quickly! Best trap for my farm use.
I use snap traps ( have to screw to block of wood or rats carry off… , dirty, hard to get rats out) posion, dangerous, expensive…. This has worked best, for my feed room and bird barns. I did have to use better things for ramp…a wire one, as the plastic ones tend to get knocked of. Works great. I use a scoop to dip out bodies. This one doesn’t collapse into bucket, like others.
