Good for beginners and experienced writers.
Fantastic tool to get the creativity going again. Not just for those with experience writing - good for beginners too.

Have Fun while developing a literary habit. (I truly missed books)
I have enjoyed writing my entire life. This book teaches structure that I never possessed. I had always written abstract daily, but this book showed me a new way to do that. It's no spoiler. When you follow this books instructions, you "develop a habit" of writing every day. In many prompts & genres you may have never thought to attempt. The key to my longwinded review is that "It's also great fun." The bold sizable font is essential for me. A blessing to those who've read from monitors/screens for most of their life. Thank you, Tarn Wilson.

Great for all ages to promote creative writing.
These are actual prompts that inspire. Oftentimes we get prompts that are too basic, or silly, or just give too much direction. This book is different. It allows you the freedom to choose the mood for every prompt. The ideas are fresh, and they give a great setup that gets you interested, but let you take it in whatever direction you want. Great for myself and my preteen.

Great prompts!
Bought the book for my 4th grader who needs writing practice. Some of the prompts are a little over her head. Most of them are something I can rif on to get a prompt for her.

Powerful catalyst for writing
I want to write, but sometimes struggle to find a subject. I look for something interesting and fun, where my experience inspires me. Here are 501 opportunities.I scanned a few pages and found three or four prompts on every page that I wanted to write. I tried a few first sentences. I'm into the story. I think I might just open to a page and pick a prompt. A morning exercise to get my juices flowing.I picked prompt 10 -setting. I live in San Francisco and love to climb the Filbert steps from the east. It's many flights. I count the steps and see the people coming down, the plantings on each side of the steps and the homes set back. I look for the famous parrots. I wonder where they are, why they come. I can see a story in lots of directions.Prompt 412 -point of view. I remember a going away party given for me. I was pretty sure some of the people there would have preferred to have a party after I was gone. I tried to figure out which people that might be.This book presents a rich offering of doorways into writing. Once inside any of the doors I think I just need to look around and write what I see. What comes to mind. The place, the people, the activity. Five minutes is just the beginning. When I wish for inspiration this is a place I can come to get pen to paper - or fingers to keyboard. The red book is on my desk. When I feel the need, I will pick it up and flip a few pages. When my lips spread I know its time to start (in my case) pressing keys.

Fun daily practice
I’m on only prompt 6 but I love it so far. As a nonnative English speaker, this is perfect length of exercise each day. The prompts are fun to imagine stories. I was surprised how easily stories came out of my head. I love it so much, I bought a copy for my high schooler niece.

So Amazing!!
This was a gift for a future author. She said it has helped her so much in getting her creativity going. She has used this 5-Minute daily writing prompts everyday since I gave it to her. I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves to write and just need some ideas to get started.

There are no boring simplistic prompts thus far and I am constantly feeling challenged and happy with the way these prompts really stir up my creativity!! Great to get out of writers block too!
