Bought as a replacement for a Youngman telescopic ladder that I wasn't impressed by at all. A real struggle to install and in the final instance faulty. This ladder however is infinitely better and was surprisingly easy to install. As others have said, it really is a two person job, but I managed it with a bit of a struggle. Carrying the ladder, upwards into position against the joist above the hatch by step ladder was a decided struggle. Holding it to the joist and attaching it perhaps more so. I'm almost seventy and reasonably fit, but I would again recommend that you have someone stationed in the loft, to bear the weight, while you attach the plywood faceplate to the joist. The instructions are quite clear. Please note in particular that the ladder should be installed in the 'locked up' position. Do not attempt to install the ladder in the extended position 'open position'. It would be very dangerous and you are explicitly warned not to attempt it in the supplied instructions. At least four x two inch screwnails, or as i did, six for safety. The concertina ladder sits above the open hatch and you pull the ladder down towards you. Disengage the ladder from it's retention bar and pull the ladder down to the floor. The action is a bit stiff, but I think it will free off with use. DW40 would probably help with this. You probably wouldn't want it to be too slack in any case. I would invest in a more robust hooked pole to disengage and re-engage the ladder from the retaining bar as what is supplied isn't really adequate. To sum up, the concertina ladder seems well made, robust and should be able to bear the weight of a more than average person + anything you are lugging up down from your loft. I would recommend this ladder for it's ease of fitting (with assistance) and excellent construction. Make sure you order the correct ladder length.

J'ai installé cet escalier il y a plusieurs années maintenant. Il est parfait. Il répond parfaitement à mon besoin par rapport à la dimension de la trappe d'accès.

Eigentlich bin ich nicht der Typ der Bewertungen verfasst. Ich glaube, das ist sogar meine Erste. Bei diesen Produkt war es mir sehr wichtig, weil es vermutlich viele Menschen ähnlich wie mir bei der Suche ergeht. Ich habe seit längern ( ca. 15 Jahre) nach einer kostengünstigen Variante einer nicht normgerechten Dachbodentreppe gesucht. Bei meinen örtlichen Baumarkt hätte ich für eine ähnliche Treppe weit über € 1400.- bezahlt. Dadurch habe ich das Projekt immer wieder auf Eis gelegt. Die Alufix 10-tread übertrifft bei weitem bei Preis/ Leistung, sehr einfachen und schnellen Montage meine Vorstellungen. Ich hoffe dadurch sehr vielen die Suche zu erleichtern. LG

Wegen unserer engen Dachluke (ca. 61x70 cm) hatte ich schon aufgegeben, nach einer passenden Einschubleiter zu suchen. Da ich nur 2x im Jahr meinen Dachboden zur Kontrolle aufsuche, ist diese Ausziehleiter für meinen Bedarf optimal. Sie ist sehr einfach anzubringen, klein und ausreichend stabil. So einfach, wie auf YouTube dargestellt, ist die Leiter allerdings nicht herunter zu klappen. Man braucht schon ein gewisses Maß an Kraft um die Stufen hinunter zu ziehen. Bei der Montage ist zu beachten. dass die Leiter mit enorm starken Stahlfedern versehen ist. Bitte auf die Finger achten - sonst sind sie ab!

Great quality for the price. Two people needed to install, but not to difficult. Once installed it's very easy to use, sturdy enough for me, handy enough for once a week visit in the attic.
