Strong and ling lasting, with 4000Pa of power and a huge 5200mAh battery!
The media could not be loaded. If you're sick and tired of having to spend all day at work, only to return home to a messy house as the kids or pets have been trashing the place, then an automated robot can legitimately change your life, giving you more time to do the things you want to, and this vacuum & mop combo means it can both suck up solid mess, and clean hard floors with ease! The suction strength/cleaning power of practically all robot vacuums is dramatically less than a typical upright vacuum cleaner (they obviously can't fit large motors and such), but the suction and cleaning capability of the SL60 is a whopping 4000Pa, which is significantly more than most robot vacuums, and is sufficient enough to suck up general mess such as dirt, crumbs, hair/fur, etc, from a hard floor and short carpets, but will have difficulty maneuvering in and hoovering thick/shaggy carpets. This SL60 robot vacuum has a HUGE 5200mAh battery, which can last up to a quoted 200 minutes (I've never emptied the battery before it has finished cleaning), and is charged via the included docking station, which takes roughly 6 hours or so from my estimation to charge from 0-100%. When it has finished its programmed routine or detects that it is low on battery then it automatically returns to the docking station to begin recharging, which is super handy. The height of the vacuum is ~9.4cm/3.72 so it is just low-profile enough to get under most furniture and obstacles, but obviously you'll want to run a ruler or tape measure around your place to check the height of obstacles before buying just in case, the last thing you want is to spend a lot on a robot vac only to find out it'll get caught on all pf your furniture! When the SL60 is le̶a̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶t̶e̶c̶h̶n̶o̶l̶o̶g̶i̶c̶a̶l̶ ̶u̶p̶r̶i̶s̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶ actively vacuuming around your home, the noise level is relatively low (I've measured around 40-80db depending on the mode, which is roughly the noise level of a casual conversation), so it shouldn't disturb you too much if it's vacuuming whilst you're home, but is loud enough to hear if you're in another room and the rest of the house is silent. But overall, the SL60 surpasses basically all budget entries with ease (it is more expensive than these super budget options); it is is easy to use and the app is fantastic compared to a lot of robot vacuum apps, and makes for either a great upgrade to a very basic robot vac, or a semi-pricey first robot vac with plenty of features! So, provided that your shiny new robot vacuum doesn't have to run an unassailable obstacle course of furniture or steep elevation changes, then the little robot vacuum can run whilst you're away from home, letting you come home to an already vacuumed place. However, if you have a ton of awkward furniture and/or exposed cables, etc, you're going to want to tidy up or redecorate before getting a robot vacuum.I have purchased loads of different kinds/brands/styles of 'robot vacuums' over the past fews years (gifting or selling each one as I upgrade), as I genuinely think that they're finally good enough (strong suction smart, etc) to serve a genuine purpose, as well as being simple enough to recommend to most people, and being able to create specific routines and commands via smart assistants makes life SO much easier.

No Alexa, No Carpet Detection, High standby power consumption
The vacuum works well in general with the initial mapping function being really fast and accurate. To use on different floor levels you need to move the charging station as well as the vacuum, but the app does remember multiple maps so this is only mildly inconvenient, a second charging dock being available as a spare part would be useful. The app itself is somewhat unintuitive to set up, I have not figured out how to add areas that should not be mopped only areas which are 'restricted' and therefore don't even get vacuumed, you can add virtual barriers but again this seems to affect both vacuuming and mopping functions. This is compounded by the inability of the vacuum to actually detect carpets and rugs, it does have a function to boost the vacuum power when on carpet but this is totally useless if it cant detect when its on a carpet.A noticeable issue is the standby power consumption, I have measured the vacuum in the charging station and over 24hrs it consumes 84 watts, that's more power than I typically use for all the lighting in my house combined and really is a big issue if your trying to reduce your carbon footprint. If you turn the charger off overnight, the vacuum looses 25% of its charge just sitting doing nothing, fully powering down the vacuum does seem to stop the energy waste but defeats many of the benefits of a robot vacuum.Although advertised to be included, there is no Alexa integration as this function needs the relevant Shellbot Alexa skill adding, this skill is missing from the Alexa skill library. No response from Shellbot 'customer support' regarding this or the very high standby power consumption.Collision avoidance is rather poor especially as this is one of its selling points, after two days of use the rubbing band around the vacuum has turned white with all the paint that the vacuum has rubbed off my painted skirting boards. If Shellbot fixed the App, sorted the standby power consumption and added the Alexa Skill then my view of this vacuum would be quite different and I would recommend it to friends, but at the moment I'm sure that there are much better machines around.
